1. Gasoline prices ARE really high right now. I think they jumped (here) from $3.459/gallon to $3.599/gallon overnight, late last week. Put this in the DNW category. The good news is that I was already trying to drive a lot less, and now I have even more incentive.
2. The weather here is sunny, but wintry! Only 28F at 2:00 p.m. Brrrr. I thought I'd brought my knit hat with me this morning (had to drive part-way to work, see below) but when I parked the car to take the bus, I couldn't find the dang hat. At lunch time I walked to the credit union (2 blocks from work) then to the Capitol (about 3 blocks in a different direction) with no hat and man, it was cold. Finally pulled up the hood of my coat, which helped a lot.
3. Yesterday morning when I woke up, I must have rolled over funny in bed when I went to turn off the clock radio's wake-to-music button, because by the time I got into the shower, about 3 minutes later, my neck and left shoulder hurt a lot. It got worse during the morning, so I called my chiropractor and got an 8 a.m. appointment today. I'm glad my chiro thinks that the one visit might have done the trick. Leaving the chiro, I drove toward work and parked the car about 1 3/4 miles away in an area with no parking restrictions (many street spaces are free but you have to move your car every hour or two). That's when I discovered that I'd not brought my knit hat. Bleh. I'm glad the chiro's receptionist (his wife) didn't try to engage me in a discussion about what's going on at the State Capitol, because I'm 95% certain that her views and mine would be diametrically opposed. She's a nice person but her views on many subjects are antediluvian.
4. I decided during the winter that I wanted to watch something related to baseball before the season starts, so I found a movie on Netflix called 61* and put it in my queue. Managed to move it up in the queue until I got it this week, and Mr. A and I watched it last night. I would give this movie 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. If you love baseball, and enjoy baseball history, this is a terrific film about the race between Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris to overtake the single season home run record set by Babe Ruth in 1927. The film is really a character study of these two men, especially Maris, and how the stress of the 1961 season took its toll on both of them. Great performances by Barry Pepper as Maris and Thomas Jane as The Mick, with excellent supporting performances by many familiar character actors. (Connor Trinneer of SG:A (?) and Enterprise even has a bit part as a sportswriter.) GO WATCH IT!! BTW brownie points if you know what 61* means:) (No

5. El Jay is being pissy today - lets me read but when I try to comment it gets hung up. Blech.
And how are you today, my lovelies?
