Monday miscellany
Or, random things that make me go "BZUH?"
1. This person should get a WTF award. Because, dude, you're volunteering for a state government agency and you think you can deny people instruction because you don't like how they voted? Gah.
2. Asteroid misses Earth by 44,750 miles. Which is close in astronomical terms, especially since this asteroid was about the same size as the one that exploded above Siberia in 1908, causing the Tunguska event. So, yeah, very glad it did not come much closer. Fortunately that distance is considered 'outer space' relative to Earth.
3. Not a WTF, more like a loud WHEW. My dad called last night and offered to put up the 3 of us for his birthday bash in June. So yay, don't have to worry about spending money on a hotel. His apartment is bigger than a lot of people's houses (at least 1200 sq. ft) and he's got 2 extra bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a twin bed. I had expected his sister to stay with him, but he said she's going to stay with her own kids at a hotel so they can make a real vacation out of it. So thank you, Daddy :) I'm looking forward to our getting to spend extra time with him, especially as we'll probably only go for a long weekend.
