Various and sundry
1. So Brett Favre is considering un-retiring? Geesh, and they say women can't make up their minds. Brett, stay home in Kiln. What are people supposed to do with all those $20 commemorative Sports Illustrateds that were sold when you retired less than a year ago, eh? Honestly. I can't even remember the name of the backup QB, who is finally, maybe, going to be the starting QB for Green Bay. Poor guy's been waiting so long he's probably got gray hair by now.
2. So after not visiting our health club in, oh, 9 months (...) Darling Daughter and I have gone 2 nights in a row. We brought CH with us last night and the two girls swam in the lap pool while I, er, read because I'd not brought a swim suit and the shorts I'd brought (to wear on the treadmill) were too small. Tonight I didn't swim either but DD swam laps for almost an hour!! All right, probably not REAL laps, but she kept moving for an hour, which was admirable. Due to her health issues the last couple of months, she really didn't get much exercise in April or May, but she's been exercising pretty much every day for the past 4 weeks or so, to the point where now she WANTS to exercise every day. So yay. And I spent 25 minutes on a treadmill and then did some minor weight-lifting on the Nautilus machines, and while I exercised I watched part of Dr. Drew's Celebrity Addiction Special, which was interesting in a morbid, can't-stop-watching-a-trainwreck sort of way.
3. I see some of y'all being very excited about attending the HP conventions this summer. I guess Portus is next weekend (whoa) and Terminus is in about 5 weeks. When I was still heavily invested in HP fandom I was planning to attend Terminus, but fortunately I never put any money toward it and now, well, given a lot of things going on right now it's a good idea that I decided not to try to attend either. Wouldn't have either the time or the money for them, to be honest. But for y'all who are going? Have a really fabulous time:)
