Friday ramblings

1. Darling Daughter and her friend are now safely back from asthma camp. Apparently they had a great time and even made a few friends (Yay). We had lunch at the Country Kitchen in Wisconsin Dells (mostly because I couldn't bear the thought of eating fast food again). Got home around 2:30 p.m. Had some major rain on the way up there but fortunately none while there so it was not a horrible muddy scene.

2. I spent some time reading this afternoon while DD spent some time on my computer. I read about half of PARENTING WITH LOVE AND LOGIC and then went back to Stephen King's THE DEAD ZONE. I'm sure I'll have to read L&L about 8 times before most of it sinks in. I'm enjoying DEAD ZONE and seeing surface similarities with the TV show, which used to be on USA and which we enjoyed a lot.

3. We've had CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY on the tube since 7 p.m. Johnny Depp reminded me of Michael Jackson in this movie (scary, I know) - maybe it was the completely unnatural color of his face?

4. Mr. Annearchy is at a Linux user group meeting for the first time in at least 7 months. Good for him; he needs to get out of the house and see people other than his family and his 2 employees. He's such a hermit.

5. I gave $25 to Barack Obama's campaign tonight. Someone called me on the phone. Do I get the cool car magnet or is that only if you donate on the website? Bah.
