1. From the "When it rains, it pours" department, yet again: We got a letter today from the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS believes we underpaid them $2,600 on our 2006 taxes (note, we have not even started working on our 2007 taxes yet). The IRS says we should have paid tax on the tax-free bonds we sold last year. We already paid tax on the money we put into the tax-free bonds. When we sold the bonds and cashed them out, we immediately rolled them into our individual retirement accounts. Apparently the IRS considers that money to be an asset that should have been taxed, while Mr. Annearchy thought of the transaction (when he made it) as just rolling money from one account to another. As Snape would say, obviously not. Anyway Mr. Annearchy plans to call Harry, his dad's friend and former business partner who is a retired accountant, and see what he thinks. Yeah, if it's not one thing, it's another.
2. We found out that Darling Daughter was just one of many people from our congregation who have been sick this week. Everyone who got sick had very similar symptoms. The full list, which we saw tonight, included:

* Amy - stomach cramps only - Monday

Anyway it looks now that the culprit was the dreaded
norovirus, which is a nasty piece of work. At least now we seem to have solved the mystery of DD's sudden illness.
