1. Mr. Annearchy talked to
his step-mom (my MIL) yesterday afternoon. She's doing reasonably well and supposedly sounded fairly cheerful, so he was relieved.
2. Darling Daughter is also doing much better. She had a very quiet, true sick-day yesterday. She didn't wake up until 10:30 a.m. (of course by the time we got back from the E.R. and got to bed it was almost 2 a.m.), and spent most of the day in bed, asleep, though she did get up now and then to use the bathroom and drink some water or Gatorade. She didn't have anything to eat until about 5 p.m. Her food intake last night consisted of Keebler Club crackers, lime sugar-free Jell-O, and some buttered egg noodles. This morning I took her to see her pediatrician to follow up on the E.R. visit. He said she was much improved but not well enough to attend school today, and he gave us a written excuse for school. After the appointment we stopped at the credit union for money and then at Culver's drive through for some vanilla frozen custard for DD and some cherry chocolate chip for me (yum). Then I brought her home and got her settled in front of the TV and left her there. She's not sick enough to need my constant attention, and her dad will be back from his book-buying expedition by 2:00 or 2:30, plus I've got a ton of stuff to do at work. (I got in to work and discovered 250 new email messages since Monday afternoon - fortunately there were at least 50 I didn't have to deal with immediately).
3. Wednesday Whinge: I swear there was some conspiracy today to keep me from getting places. Everywhere I drove there was something blocking the road, varying from a moving van to a bus to a city water utility truck. Gah. Just a minor annoyance, yeah, but it had me muttering in the car. /minor rant
