Is my birthday over yet? please?
1. Thanks to everyone who has sent me birthday wishes, either on LJ, or by email or even a few real cards. I really do appreciate your kind thoughts, which have been the bright spot in an otherwise craptastic day.
2. I made the mistake of toughing the day out at work. By the time I left at 5:00 I was in a world of hurt. Got home at 5:30 and took my temperature, which was 100F, which is very warm for me, as my normal temp is around 97.6F. So I suspect I'll have to stay home tomorrow because I really do feel like shit on a shingle.
3. I went to Walgreen's, 2 blocks from work, around 1:00 p.m. and came back with a bunch of cold/flu meds. On the way back, as I was crossing the street next to my office building and stepping up the curb, my right angle kind of buckled, which caused me to set my left foot down very oddly. It's hurt ever since. I iced it at work (jerry-rigged icing device) and it's now stuff but not purple,so that's good. I guess I either strained or sprained my instep. I hope that's all it is.
4. I can't taste much and I feel awful so we're not going out for dinner tonight. In fact all I'm going to eat is some toast and OJ and maybe a banana later, and I'll be drinking tons of water. I had wanted to attend a rock concert tonight (the band LITTLE FEAT is playing in town) but I never got around to buying tickets. Good thing or we would have lost $65+ on the tickets, as I'm not going ANYWHERE tonight.
