1. Anyone else see that North Dakota TV ad? SacaKAweja? Is that how her name is pronounced? I always thought it was SacaJAweja, just like it's spelled ;)
2. Mr. Baseball, Bob Uecker, is on Leno tonight. Funny, funny man and a great baseball commentator. He just talked about getting his 1964 World Series ring (he was 3rd-string catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals then), and how they "threw my ring out into left field and I found it during the 5th inning." *snorts*
3. Tonight I had to make one of those Hail Mary dinners. You know, when you look in the fridge and go, "OMFG, I don't really have anything I can make for dinner, do I?" I knew this morning that we really had nothing to eat except Boca Burger soy crumbles. I didn't want to make veggie chili because I'd made ground-beef chili last night. I couldn't find any cream of anything soup in the pantry (mushroom or celery would have worked). So I punted. I browned the soy crumbles, sauteed some garlic and onion along with it, added a cup of beef bullion and some frozen peas, corn and green beens (from separate bags), put the mixture in a glass pie plate and topped it with instant mashed potatoes that I'd made on the side. Oh, I did add a bunch of spices too. Voila' - Shepherd's pie. Sort of. *shrugs* Well, Maya and Mr. Annearchy liked it.
4. I really do need to buy a new prepaid card for my cell phone tomorrow. I also need to buy some birthday presents for Mr. Annearchy, whose birthday is May 14th. That's also my dad's birthday. My sisters and I decided to get him a travel gift card so that he can fly to Houston to see his sister while she's visiting there; we like that idea better than him driving there by himself. We're getting him another gift that isn't exactly fun: A stone vase with our family name carved in it, that he can put in front of Mama's "headstone" at the mausoleum. This way we don't have to buy floral arrangements every time we want to bring flowers.
5. I'm sorry, I just don't get rap. I'm too old. *sigh* I know it's not that I'm too white, because I still love the Motown stuff I grew up on. But rap?? Just so not my speed. Whatever.
