That's great about the benefit. Our church is helping to support a Catholic school in New Orleans that one of Deacons has been in contact with (well, we are Catholic), heping to provide everything from school supplies to clothes to housing needs.

Very cute with Maya... ;) We definitely wouldn't want you to break your leg.

Which Catholic school is that? I probably know it or know of it. I mean, I DID grow up there :)

I sing in front of people at church and at karaoke. I was also a doo-wop girl in a pickup rock band at work once.

Thanks to you and yours for helping the Katrina survivors. They sure need it.

Great Fundraising idea. Go songbird Annearchy!

What book will you be reading at the roller party? Will it be a disco roller party? Remember that used to be a big deal way back when. Sigh.

Bohemian Rhapsody? It sounds very Las Vegas. I didn't see it. Instead I was watching King Arthur and oogling Mads. See above icon. Squeeee!

I don't know what book I'll be reading. We have about 2800 books in our house (2,500 of them for sale on Amazon.com) so I have a lot to choose from. I can assure you that it will NOT be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I really don't want to lug that thing around (not to mention I'm not real fond of it anyway).

Wheeeee - Singin'! You go, girl! We had a benefit for Katrina survivors up here, and I sang Hard Times. I love that song with all my heart - it's well over 100 years old, and it could have been written yesterday. That melody is just like a silken thread - delicately wrought, but incredibly strong. Sounds like you all had a wonderful evening.

Hard Times was the end of the official program (before the jam session which I didn't participate in). It was sung by 2 women from the congregation who did a lovely harmony arrangement, while one of them played guitar. Most of us joined in on the chorus.

I have well not really participated in but supported our school's Book Drive for the libraries of New Orleans. I got an email from Iams today about how they are raising funds to help the homeless and unfortunate pets. I do wish I could do more it it a tad difficult not having an income and being in college though. Wow that many books on Amazon.com for sale! I have well I haven't counted but my house plans include floor to celing bookcases built in.
