Rather often, you will find that liberals/progressives/leftists of a more mainstream type will press each other to "find common ground" and "compromise" with the right, otherwise, they say, we won't get anything done. I find it so inherently offensive that I'm expected to seek common ground with people who think I am less important than the almighty fetus. We don't expect persons of color to make nice with the KKK, but somehow, pro-choicers are supposed to be all KUMBAYAH with people who don't think we're capable to make decisions on what goes on with our bodies. And that doesn't even begin to cover how I feel about calls for common ground or bipartisanship with people who not only don't have an interest in it, but also have no qualms about stating how uninterested they are in it.

Seriously, take this common ground nonsense and shove it.
