I was just told that the bookstore was mentioned in the Buffalo News's travel section a couple weeks ago, and Googling proves it true:
http://www.buffalonews.com/lifearts/travel/story/444221.html The story was a "one-tank trip" piece about a visit to Letchworth State Park (right by Perry), and includes
"We drove from there up to Perry and stopped in at Burlingham Books. This eclectic book store sells rare first editions and current reads alongside leaf-shaped bottles of maple syrup, kitschy coffee mugs, toys and key chains. There’s even a little coffee bar next to the register - and a few seats in the front window if you’re in the mood for people watching."
The author also visited Perry classmate, friend, and fellow Rotarian Bonnie Matson's store:
"Our last mission was to find a place I’d heard about named The Farmer’s Wife. Situated in a former Agway mill, its current transformation into an antique barn allows for 12,000 square feet of memories. As we strolled around, we found ourselves saying, “Do you remember having these (fill in the blank) at your grandmother’s house?” and “We had one of those!” The enameled Tappan range with the cover on the burners, the flashy Fiesta ware, the Bakelite casserole dishes, the dainty hand-painted tea cups: They were all there, just like we remembered them."
Despite nobody locally having mentioned this since it was in the paper on September 21st, and that they got the address wrong, woo! for good publicity!
