I've been without Internet for what seems like forever. You know how you can have something and for whatever reasons hardly ever use it, but then the moment you don't have it anymore that's practically all you can think about doing? That's been me.
Unfortunately, my work schedule and the cable repair schedules weren't mixy and things were too hectic at work to take off. So it took awhile to get back online. Apparently, the problem was caused by both Internet and cable sharing the same line. Repair Guy removed the spliter, gave me a dedicated line for each...and viola!
Internet is now working beautifully. The downside is, now my cable keeps cutting out. Looks like I'll have to live with that until I can take off again. ::sigh::
Speaking of taking off, I took the weekend off from my part time job. Brought some regular work home but couldn't resist popping online off and on today to catch up on emails, etc. Haven't skimmed through my flist yet, but I like to think you're all doing well and having a blast. Hope so, anyway. And please forgive a blanket Happy Belated Birthday to everyone I've missed!
I suspected it might be time for Seasonal Spuffy, so I checked and sure enough sign-ups are underway. I jumped at the chance to take part this time around. I already have a short fic I wrote that's been twiddling its thumbs on my hard drive for about a year and it fits the theme. Yay!
So...um...looks like in my absence I've lost a few LJ features? When I started making this post, I noticed there's nothing in the tool bar now but "Insert Image"" and "Embed Media". Is there anyone (maybe someone with a free account like me) who can confirm this? If not, I'll try to track down the answer myself when I get a chance.
But if that's the case, guess I'll have to learn how to code stuff since I can't justify paying for an account. Bummer.
But there are worse things in life. And I'm just pleased to be back with you, even if it seems like it's always hit and run. Thanks for being my friends.
ETA: Figured out the problem. I needed to update my browser. Now I have the Rich Text option again. Yay!
