Off-day

I started this day thinking that if I could get a decent amount of sleep, I would be a fantastic graduate student. I still think that, but I'm slightly disappointed at the fact that I've actually gotten nothing academic or research done all day, while my reason for having the thought was all of the motivation I had for this in the morning. The point, however, was that when people aren't prodding and bothering me with stupid shit like homework and classes, I'm very willing to study... enthusiastic even!

Anyway, I did get a lot of other useful things done today. I got tickets to The Roots concert next week because Austin has been wanting to go to that rather badly, and I -know- he's too much of a scatterbrained mathematician to think to get the tickets himself before it's too late. I also dealt with all of the SPS -treasurer related nonsense today. This actually required a lot of running around and handling large sums of money, but it's 99% done now, so that's good.

Matt and I had breakfast at IHOP this morning, which was nice. Afterwards, we decided to go shoe shopping at the mall because he likes to blow off work and I wanted shoes. I got some relatively cute quasi-athletic black shoes for $15, which is a pretty sweet deal. Yay! I <3 shoes! =P

I'm amused by the fact that they're black, but they say "red" on them. =P

I was saddened and disappointed by the fact that they had Sketchers on sale, also for $15, in every size but mine, and I've been wanting those particular ones for a very long time. The only reason I never got them was because they were always WAY too expensive. :( I might give in to temptation and order them online anyway since they're probably on sale there too...

[edit] I totally did it. I'm such a sucker.

It's looking like we're going to have just enough North Carolina football tickets for all of the people that really wanted to go, so I'm sort of looking forward to next weekend. I think it'll be really fun to see a football game with Christoph, Weston, Aliya & Co. again. =)

Oh yeah, and I'm going home this weekend. I hope that works out okay.

college, randomness, physics, friends
