All your resolutions are the same as mine, except my fandom projects are different.

So I never got back to you about Elementary. At the time you asked, I had only seen a few minutes while channel surfing. But over Christmas I found out its my parents' favorite new show, so I watched two episodes. I liked it. JLM is actually one of the most warm, compassionate Sherlocks I've seen, instantly likeable. And of course, Lucy Liu is perfect as Watson. I wouldn't mind watching more episodes but my tv plate is brimming over. I'm already behind with my shows in the new year. Also, I was really sick with the flu over Christmas so I started an epic Buffy rewatch and I'm now in S6.

The Americans looks interesting. It's great to have Keri Russell back on my screen. I still haven't finished watching Felicity all the way through. I was watching this summer but stopped right before the end of S3.

Aw, I have loved every season of Downton but each one for very different reasons. S3 did make me cry but I really loved the aftermath. Some great stuff came out of it.

I'm behind on Fringe too.

Oh, and Castle has been so much fun this season! Note to showrunners everywhere: will-they-or-won't-they should not be the best part. Castle and Beckett are much more interesting together. It even made me forget how terrible last season was, which was so wretchedly awful I almost stopped watching.

Elementary mostly annoys me. I hate how Sherlock just shows up at crime scenes even before anything weird is going on, so the writers have him do basic police work, like determining that the body was moved, and then present it like it's amazing. I also think it's hilarious how many cases have hinged on hidden recording devices; it was like 5 of the last 6 episodes. I can't make myself stop watching, though, because Jonny's just so charming. And I did actually really like the last episode because it dealt with actual Sherlock Holmes mythology.

I love having Felicity alums back on tv! I really hope Speedy gets to be on a successful show soon, since Last Resort didn't pan out. :( But, oh god, I hate S3 of Felicity. S4 I like much better, mostly because Ben has the best storyline ever, but then it has the idiotic time travel episodes at the end, ugh. I would say not to watch those, but you'll probably be curious.

I got sucked into a marathon of random Castle episodes on tv last week. It was so delightful, I just couldn't stop watching. I'm going back now to watch from the beginning. I'm almost done with S1, and I'm so surprised it was so good right away! I feel like procedurals never have very good first seasons. It sucks that the last season was so bad, though, eep. I don't think I'll get there for a while. After I finish S1 I'm moving on to Misfits next, then I think either Fringe or Downton Abbey.

LOL That's hilarious. I've heard about the hate watching trend. I'm literally the mostly annoyingly optimistic person so I tend to focus on what I like and ignore what I don't unless it interferes with what I like and then I vent. Also, I rarely watch procedurals anymore. I think Castle is the only one. I tend to ignore the case and focus on the characters.

All that being said. NOTHING can top my UNDYING LOVE for Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock. That show is sheer calculated perfection. All other Sherlocks pale in contrast.

Felicity has been very up and down storywise. And I can't take whiny Noel. Like WTF? Whereas Ben I like no matter what, even in some of the terrible storylines. I don't think the time travel episodes will ruin the show for me. Unlike why I never finished Veronica Mars, I got four episodes into S3 before I gave up.

Castle had "it" from the get-go. I've seen episodes multiple times and it still feels fresh. Yeah, last season it was obvious they were just trying keep them apart and made them do some angering out of character stuff. Maybe since you get to marathon everything it won't be so bad. Sometimes that week to week waiting and all the water cooler talk makes it worse than it is. I was really into the first four seasons of Bones but I couldn't take it that they were determined to keep them apart. It's the main reason I gave it up.

Yeah, the Elementary Sherlock is very lucky so many people capture things on hidden camera or he might never solve a case! Sherlock Sherlock is definitely the ultimate. Benedict's amazing, and the writing is super sharp.

UGH, Noel consistently has the worst storylines!! His ridiculous marriage, and then stalking Tyra Banks, and then his Nice Guy™ shit with Felicity. Ben is my favorite. He has the best character arc of anyone over the course of the show.

Yeah, Bones took a little too long to get Booth and Bren together, but once they started on that road in S5, I actually quite like how the writers went about making it happen, with Bren first being afraid that she couldn't love like Booth does, and then finding her courage after he's already commited to someone else, and them both admitting that they have personal issues to deal with before they're ready to be together. It felt very true to their characters to me.
