Bush went up in a helicopter and off the stage of world politics, where he probably should never have been in the first place on account of a severe case of teh Stupids ( Read more... )

I was thinking much the same things while watching today. Especially when VP Biden followed Cheney in his wheelchair to the limo. I kept thinking, this is the perfect opportunity to grab the handles and steer that sob to the nearest jail cell. Then we could have all had one hell of a party! *g*

Wonkette said was that Cheney was being wheeled off to be deposited in a very steep ditch somewhere in Wyoming.

Near the end of the Peter Jackson adaptation of The Return of the King, when Aragorn is crowned, before he gets off his knees and turns around to face his people he has this moment of "Do Not Want, What Am I Getting Into, Why Me," look on his face. Which went a long way towards convincing me that yes, that guy who did not want to be king would be a good one. You observation about Mr. Obama looking queasy reminded me of that.

People on the National Mall giggled and/or winced at Warren's pronunciation of "Sasha."

You probably read this in the news somewhere, but I am here to confirm that as the helicopter flew away, attendees on the Mall were singing "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" in groups.

Saaaaarshhhhha.

I've never heard anything like it in my life. A man who can make the words of the King James Bible sound like dickish knuckledragging drool. Don't ever let this fat twat anywhere near Shakespeare - he will ruin it FOREVER.

I'm not surprised Cheney was in a wheelchair. He just needed a fluffy cat to stroke to complete the picture. You know, it's not easy even for a nosferatu to move a man-sized safe out of his office.

Jon Stewart said Rick Warren pronounced the girls' names as if they were delicious.

My roommate claimed that she saw a part of the proceedings on TV where Bush's helicopter lifted off and people on the ground broke out into "Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!" I don't know if I believe her.

Apparently it was something of a theme song for the day. :D

People say it was bad form. Well...meh. Maybe. But nobody got waterboarded, imprisoned without trial, kidnapped or trapped in football stadiums without food, water and toilet facilities, so...

Yes! A little bit Blofeld, a little bit Strangelove.

Bad form? People, please. Bad form was him talking endlessly in a ton of recent interviews about how great he was and how he kept us safe. There were hard decisions but he made them! Such as hmm, should I continue my vacation or take care of American citizens properly during Katrina, hmmm....

If you listen carefully, you can hear it-the bomb in his wheelchair picking up the BBC World Service.

Awesome. The BBC were making no bones about the fact that they were quietly laughing over Cheney's injury. I love my country - we're such evil, supercilious bastards. :D

When I first saw Darth Cheney in that chair, I confess that my first thought was 'Davros!'.

Later on, a small voice that drips poison from the back of my brain (and which is usually suppressed) was saying "I bet he isn't really injured - he just didn't want to be forced to stand and pretend to pay his respects as Supreme Power was pried from his clutches in front of the entire world".

Bitter and Twisted? Cynical? Moi?
