So I thought that was interesting and tried it myself with some of my harry/draco fanfiction and I got the same thing. So maybe it's because we are trying to write like her and are just really good ghost writers?

When I submitted the first chapter of one of my original stories I got Dan Brown.. I have no idea who that is but now I'm going to look him up.

Then I tried a Harry/Draco sex scene and it still said JK Rowling... so I don't think it has to do with the actual content.

I put in the first chapter of a story I'm writing about lesbians and I got Stephen King.
Another one, which is a fantasy, I got Harry Harrison..
Apparently have no writing style.. lol, but all of my Harry/Draco fanfiction is JK Rowling.. so weird.

LOL!!

The weird thing was, I realized after posting this that the snippet I put in actually didn't have any Harry Potter names in it. I often print out things I'm working on so I can work on them when I'm off with the kids somewhere, and although I have no aversion to other parents looking over my shoulder and seeing that I'm reading/writing m/m sex, I don't much want to find out what they'd think of m/m Harry Potter sex. So I always run a macro that changes everyone's names (Harry => Hugh, Draco => David, Hermione => Helen, etc) before I print, and then run the undo macro before I post online. The snippet I used was macro'd. Not a Malfoy, Potter or Weasley in sight. And yet it was still Rowling's style. B'zuh??!

LOL pir8fancier got him too, and was quite hilariously mortified :D :D :D

I never print anything off, because my printer seems to always be out of ink. Though I get really paranoid of people around me when I'm typing on my laptop. I make the font really tiny so that I can barely see it.

So I looked up Dan Brown (such a common name) and realized that I did know who he was or at least I'd heard of his books. I think authoress_girl is right and it has to have something to do with the verbs and such. It's interesting though.

I'm so jealous! I got Dan Brown when I used a huge chunk of original fiction and I was just o_0

but then I some short stories in afterwards and got Chuck Palahnuik, so it's all good :D

maybe it analyses most commonly used adjectives/adverbs/verbs. That's so strange (and very cool!)

First, I realize this was a month ago. Second, I also realize I'm a stranger, but I have been (sort of) stalking you for a long time. Not in the creepy way BTW. The fanfiction.net way.

And lastly, this confirms my belief that you were channeling Rowling while writing Bond. In fact, I remember being half way through it and marveling at how cannon all of the characters were and having a moments thought of "IS this J.K. Rowling? I could definitely see her crafting something similar."

Anyway, after I finished Bond and several other fics of yours I think I was firmly of the opinion that Rowling probably does ship her own characters in her head at least, if not on paper. I'd like to think so anyway.

Sorry if that was a creepy/weird interjection. Just had to say it.

Also, thanks for being so awesome.
