Finally,Another Post!

Once again I have alot to do,but thought since I haven't posted in awhile (though I did post something in stayathomemoms yesterday) I'd make a quick one.

Mom is still here, but will be going back to my Aunt's tomorrow at the latest. We have done pretty well together (thankfully) and I am glad we could help her out this past week and a half. The only drawback is that I've nearly turned into HER mother, because every few days she needs to borrow money for gas, etc. Yesterday I gave her $15 to cover a $10 check that still needs to come through though she was thinking that there might be yet another check to come through too. She's kept a good attitude about it,though, and we laughed when she suggested that our roles have been reversed as of late.

The apartment she was hoping to get by Sept. 1 is not going to be available as quickly as she had thought (the tenant has decided to wait til after her September wedding to move) so she looked at another place, but her income didn't meet their minimum requirements so she needed a co-signer. No one wanted to co-sign (for obvious reasons) so she is waiting for another apartment to open up and hopefully by then she'll have a part-time job (none of the places she has applied to have called her!!!) to supplement her income again. Life just hasn't been smiling at Mom lately. :(

Today at 2:45 Shawn has his medical check-up for school, and then this evening Glenn and I are hoping to go uniform/supply shopping for the kids. The kids don't need to go! *lol* Glenn and I are kind of in opposite corners about where to send Shawn to middle school (5-8) this year, and being that the school year begins in a mere 6 days the disagreement is coming to a head. The school he is supposed to go to has had some major disciplinary problems as well as a stay on the Academic Watch List a few years ago,but in the past few years has gained a new principal and several new teachers. Shawn's 4th grade teacher said he thought Shawn'd have no problems, especially in 5th,because the 5th graders are somewhat segregated from the older kids with essentially their own wing,as well as the fact that Shawn is just known as a sweet kid that no one picks on. Glenn seems to think we shouldn't even give this school a try, whereas I think we should. As it turns out,Shawn needs to report to this school first anyway,so we will have to do that, and if we still decide to send him somewhere else then we need to get a boundary waiver form and be approved if there's room at another school. It's just so danged complicated and I wish we didn't even have to worry about it!

That said,I need to go. I have to shower and do a few other things before we go to Shawnie's appt. this afternoon. We had thunderboomers this a.m. and might get more later, but otherwise it's gonna be another scorcher and we won't have time to go swimming! Fudge! :(

Have a great Tuesday everyone! :)
