Sunny Thursday
This morning I got up and got the kids off to school,then frosted the cake I had baked for the bereavement luncheon and I have to admit I caved and totally licked the knife when I was done smoothing the chocolately goodness back and forth across the top of the spongey dessert... ;)
I putzed around on the computer a little too long and didn't have time to finish my breakfast so I put the leftover English muffin in the fridge,then took off for church. My Mom was helping my Grandma,as well as three other ladies,and I stayed to help get a few things ready but then left to do my banking. My Grandma had invited me to stay but I knew I at least had to go to the bank so I did that,then came home,thinking maybe after I got some other things done I'd go back. The "guilt" did end up getting the best of me so I left Shawn a note and went back around 1:30 to see if they needed an help cleaning up. I figured at the most I could stay an hour,and then I'd feel good about helping out. I mean,I AM a perfectly capable and healthy person,after all,and all the ladies who were helping are older and don't always have that much energy! So I returned,only to find they were nearly done because they had less people to feed than they had thought,but I did still help with a few minor details that still needed to be done,and got to bring home some leftover food and coffee for my efforts! ;)
I arrived back home about 10 minutes before Shawn did,meaning I didn't have to worry about him being home by himself at all so that was a bonus.
Wow,I am watching Oprah interview the guy who was the sole survivor of the tragic boating accident that took the lives of two NFL players and his best friend a year ago,and I cannot imagine how terrible his ordeal...THEIR ordeal....was. WOW.
So anyway,not much else. I have a load of laundry to put in the dryer,and should run the dishwasher. Tonight we can have leftover ham,scalloped potatoes,and Jell-O from the luncheon so all I have to do is warm stuff up in the micro. That rocks! :D
AND I have cake leftover too! Woo hoo!!
