Hump Day Happenings

Well,Kamryn finally went to school! Can I get an "Amen" and a "Hallelujah"?? *LOL*

My Mom came over as soon as I called her back to let her know the girls were on the bus so she could pick me up and we could drive over to get her car at the garage where my BIL works part-time. She had been having all kinds of problems with the headlights alternating burning out (and other minor, yet aggravating, problems) but within the past week she had been having problems with the engine dying. She had taken the battery for Glenn to test at O'Reilly, and he determined the battery was just fine and suggested the alternator was the problem. My BIL got the alternator for her,and fixed it out at their house, but yesterday in the early morning while on her paper route the car completely died in the middle of an intersection. Thankfully my Grandpa was able to rescue her with the van she had borrowed from my Aunt R,and they had the car towed to the garage, where my BIL rather embarrassingly determined he hadn't fully plugged the alternator into the battery. He has graciously offered to pay her for the towing since it was his fault, and now she's back in business, hopefully for a LONG TIME. Sheesh.

We drove both vehicles back to her house, where she dropped off her doggie (who goes with her on her route every morning) and then headed back to my house to drop me off before she went to pick up a lady from church who needed to go to a doctor's appt. My Mom is such an angel! :)

In the meantime I went on a much needed trip to the grocery store, and then came home to put the stuff away. I also finally made the bed, vacuumed, did a little dusting, and paid two bills though tomorrow I just might have to transfer some money over again. Grrr. Tonight I have to bake a cake for a bereavement luncheon tomorrow at church;my Grandma is in charge of that endeavor and she asked me to bake one of the cakes this time since she had asked Debbie last time. A family in our church has had a rather bad string of luck lately,as the matriarch of the family,Mrs. W,lost her husband a little less than a year ago. Recently both of her remaining siblings were alternating between hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care, and her brother passed away about three weeks ago. Her sister, whom I know quite well from having grown up seeing her at church every Sunday, just passed away last Saturday evening. Mrs. W's daughter also attends our church, and she has lost her Father,an uncle, and now an aunt, all within a year. Such a shame. :(

Well, not much else. I have yet to try coloring my hair because I keep having to be seen in public, but maybe tomorrow after I do my errands I can do it. I just want to make sure if I don't get it right I can rectify it before I am seen out in public! ;)

Chat later! ♥

sad times, school, kamryn
