Erin's Big Lesson

Nov 06, 2008 10:09

Yesterday was very productive, and Glenn and I managed to go to Walgreen's to finally develop pictures,WalMart Optical (story that I'll save for later),and Menards to get new rakes and lawn bags, and then got a late McD's lunch on the way back home before Shawn arrived. After we ate,Shawn and Glenn went to play football catch, and I came out later to ( Read more... )

that's a tough lesson to learn. The same thing happened to my brother when he was a kid too...stray animals are nothing to mess with ( ... )

Yeah,we have let Bradley Kitty come in to the basement and/or garage for the past two Winters but that's as far as we've been willing to go with it because we really don't want the expense of de-clawing but don't want ripped-up furniture either. I suppose I could brush the cat,but cat hair is a concern too. =/

It's a decision we won't take lightly,that is for sure! :)

So you have a "crazy cat lady" for a Mom,eh? *LOL*
It's good that she has such a kind heart. ♥

Erin went out to the garage with the cat yesterday so I don't think she'll ever be fearful (she has a love of animals that my cousin Dawn has) but I sure hope she's realized that "fluffy and cute" does not always mean "nice" and that she'll think twice about approaching an animal she doesn't know. ;)

You're not allowed to let your pet cats outside at all or outdoor/stray cats aren't legal?

Poor Erin. That will be a lesson she won't forget in a hurry. I got bitten pretty good by a cat when I was in high school and had to go and have a tetanus injection for it. The hospital said cat bites are far worse than dog bites because of the germs in their mouths. :S

Well she didn't go into thorough detail, but the gist I got was that outdoor cats are not allowed around here because they aren't tethered like dogs are. At any rate what *we* had been doing is illegal,as Bradley Kitty doesn't have tags and as far as we know hasn't had any shots either, unless the people whose home these cats supposedly come from do get them vaccinated but just let them roam free without tags. I don't know if the lady found out anything when she went to their house or not,but we'll find out soon enough,I suppose! ;)

That's interesting that cat bites are worse than dog bites;that sounds familiar though, and I may have learned that along the way at some point. Glad you fully recovered without having to get anything more than a tetanus shot. :)

Erin is all caught up on her shots so hopefully she won't need any from this incident, and hopefully she'll fully recover without any problems. *crosses fingers*

Poor Erin, I'm glad she didn't get attacked worse! And dang, that cat was mean, I mean it even went after your husband? That's crazy!

It sounds like everyone has been through the wringer with that sickness, I hope everyone is on the mend now. I hate when my kids are sick.
