Better than yesterday \(^_^)/
So yesterday after work I tried (and failed) to take a nap, but at least laying in bed for a bit really helped. After that I didn’t do much, popped some nikuman in the microwave for dinner, and watched some youtube. Then I skyped with my mum for a while, which was fun. I think I last called her before I was in the hospital, so it had been a while. She said I looked good though I had lost weight. Yeah, I just took a nap, that’s why I don’t look in pain. I also managed to go to the convenience store to pick up my cd’s/dvds. Is it just me or has Johnny’s really upped their aesthetic? Arashi’s Kaito single looks like an LP and is so beautiful I want to hang it on my wall, not even kidding.Then as I was about to go to bed a friend messaged me and we ended up chatting for about half an hour, so that was fun. I didn’t sleep well, as I haven’t in a few days, so I was pretty tired this morning. But resting a lot yesterday helped, as today went a lot better.
I just love dreamcatchers PV for Odd Eye, so I wanted to share a watercolour painting I did inspired by it ^^I had a fifth year class, which was very communication focused and most of the time the students were talking and I just walked around helping when necessary. The same held true for the sixth year class, and I was told that my fourth year class was cancelled. Both classes were fun, although I felt like I didn’t really do all that much. It was good for the students though because they spend about 70~80% of the time talking English.
Lunch was Miyagi Prefecture inspired and although I already forgot what the food was called (which usually happens with unfamiliar food, I can never remember the name), it was really good. I had brought my sketchbook for when I didn’t have any work to do at school, since I usually read Japanese books, but didn’t want to risk the extra pain, and some people were really impressed by it. They told me my Aiba drawing really looked like him (even though it was only a quick sketch), so that made me happy =D. She also told me about a French Bulldog Amabie character, so maybe I should try drawing that one next, since it looked super cute!
I also chatted a lot with several of the teachers, staff and the principal, though there were a lot of events and everyone was kind of in a rush. I really love this elementary school a lot. I love almost all my schools a lot to be fair. Back at the office I wanted to make some picture cards to use next week, but my computer didn’t have the cd-rom disks that came with the textbooks installed (I wanted to use the same pictures as the children will use) and installing them took over 1,5 hours. Basically when I went home it still wasn’t done, so I asked my colleagues who were still at the office to look after it xD
And I made the bookmarks I painted into actual bookmarks~ For a watercolour challenge on reddit I painted five bookmarks inspired by some of my favourite books. I took copies of the paintings, cut them out and laminated them. I used the copy machine at the convenience store since it’s better than my own printer, and tried twice but it still didn’t really pick up the softer/lighter colours, so that’s a pity. I wonder how I could make it work :/ I wonder how artists create prints of their watercolour/ traditional artwork. Something to look into ^^.
