The weeks go by fast...
especially when you change your place, the time is warped. Here I am in Des Moines, working on a conservation job at the state capitol. Traveled on Monday, uneventfully, saw the site, met the team (I've worked with them all before, actually) then adjourned to a local brewery for dinner. Nice plate of fish and chips. The scaffold was put up overnight Monday, so we climbed up and got started on the work on Tuesday morning. After two days, I think we are ahead on the schedule, so we can just relax, work steadily, and get done in good time!
The weather in the Midwest has gone bad since Monday. It's cold and rainy here in Iowa, but at least it's not snowing as it is further west.
I watched an episode of the tv series Eli Stone last night. Usually I watch The Shield on Tuesday night, but my hotel doesn't get FX on their cable server. ES was quite charming, the guest was Katie Holmes, who was also charming. I think I may watch more of it, especially after The Shield winds up its season in a few weeks. Those cable series are easy to love, they usually run about 10 or 12 eps and call it a season. Sometimes they come back with another season after about six months, sometimes they make you wait a year (e.g. Burn Notice last year. However, that has become so popular, they are doing new eps in January 09 instead of waiting until next summer. yay)
Meanwhile, I skipped back and forth earlier in the evening between Dancing with the Stars results and The Mentalist. That's another enjoyable show, despite being a crime procedural, it's quite light hearted and the hero is likeable. One of my faves of the new season, along with My Own Worst Enemy and Fringe.
