Ugh
It's the holidays again... they can't come fast enough and now I don't want them to get here. I go through this every year!
We didn't get a tree this year simply because we have no place to put it. I'm kind of ok with that, so I decorated with a bunch of other stuff and watching my usual Christmas movie marathon. Yesterday I watched It's A Wonderful Life for the first time totally un-cut. I haven't seen it since I was a little girl too so I was nice to watch.
I have all my Christmas shopping done and I did it all online this year. No way was I going to mess with the crowds in the malls. I can't stand them!
I had a pretty good weekend actually. Saturday it rained, and I needed that. Sometimes you just need a gloomy day to get you back to reality. I mailed out my mom and brother's gifts Saturday morning, then did some other running around, came home and worked on Chris' blanket for a while. Then at 3, we had to head to Bucca de Beppo for an early birthday dinner. It was Anthony's (Chris' brother)birthday 12/13 so we feasted. I of course stuffed myself sick so we headed home early.
Chris and I snuggled on the couch, I crocheted and we watched movies. It was really cold and rainy out so it was perfect snuggling weather.
I guess around 1am Anthony and Rebecca showed up drunk wanting to hang out. I was already asleep so Chris unfortunately had the hosting duties. He told them to call before they just showed up, but they didn't. Poor Chris was just getting ready for bed too.
Sunday was much the same, except without the rain. We did laundry, cleaned house, ran errands. Once the sun went down, I lit candles, popped in Its A Wonderful Life, made some dinner and we snuggled again on the couch.
Thankfully Ray knows he's on the outs with us so he's been in hiding trying to avoid us. Since he hasn't paid rent in god knows how many months and we've finally told him he's kicked out, he's finally gotten himself a job and has been begging for extra work there.
He was supposed to be out a month ago, but he's an asshole and hasn't come near getting out. We're about ready to just chuck his crap into the street and take him to court.
So anyway, next weekend I get a 4-day weekend. We have to work 12/26 but I requested that day off in July so I get an extra day.
I can't wait, I think Chris may have gotten me that particular piece of jewlery that I've been waiting for for a while.. I'm only 10% sure that's what it is... so cross your fingers for me!
