This was such a pleasure in every way. The premise and the setting were so well done, as was the way you wrote the secondary characters. You have a gift for making them feel real and richly characterized, even ones like Will who just had short scenes.

I admire the way you made the initial tension between Arthur and Merlin genuinely acrimonious and not something easily overcome; that made their getting-together all the more satisfying. And I liked Merlin's reaction at the end: he thought he'd been getting over it, but was flooded by anger and hurt when Arthur showed up. That rang really true to me, and though of course I wanted a happy ending, I was glad that it wasn't glossed over how problematic Arthur's reaction had been. (I, unlike others perhaps, don't feel that Merlin was at fault for not telling Arthur before, especially when his fears about doing so were completely validated by Arthur's actions after the healing.)

I also really liked the detail of Merlin's magic reaching out to Arthur from the beginning, and how that grew so that at the end Merlin could sense an injury; what a lovely indication of their closeness and intimacy. Thank you so much for sharing. :))
