Well, I saw Wicked on Friday. Yay! Anyway, it was awesome, and I'm posting a review.
Cast
Glinda: Megan Hilty
Elphaba: Shoshana Bean
Fiyero: Cliffton Hall
Morrible: Alma Cuervo
Wizard: PJ Benjamin
Nessarose: Laura Dysarczyk (u/s)
Boq: Josh Lamon
Dillamond: K. Todd Freeman
- Shoshana and Megan were both awesome. Really, Sho's Elphaba was very realistic, if that makes sense.
- I didn't really like Clifton Hall's Fiyero, at first. But it grew on me. I love how, in the classroom scene after Popular, he said "Toss, toss", after the Galind-ified line. Funnier still was that he didn't exactly have much hair to toss...
- Popular was hilarious! My mom laughed right through it. Megan was just spectacular, being Galinda. Actually, I noticed she appear to have a very good lower vocal range, too, but that's irrelevant.
- The train station scene. Loved how Elphaba gave Fiyero a thumbs up sigh when saying " Yes, I've heard" in regards to him thinking. Priceless! It looks much better than how I just described it, believe me.
- I really liked how the Wizard and Elphaba danced around the room in Wonderful. It was just fun to watch. =) Not to mention that PJ Benjamin is great as the wizard.
- I loved As Long as You're Mine. It was just so moving, and they just had so much chemistry at the end. Fiyero/Elphaba= My OTP. 'Nuff said.
- No Good Deed was awesome. I don't know why, aside from the fact that Shoshana was great, but I really enjoyed it.
- Loved the catfight scene. Glinda slapping Elphie, the cackling. And then the guards came, and Fiyero swung in. Another excellent bit.
- As for Nessa and Boq: They were both good. Granted, I thought Nessa was a bit "off" at first, and Boq's voice was a little too dweeby. But they definitly redeemed themselves in Act Two.
- Glinda's "bubble" dress was so sparkly! Seriously, the light reflected off of it in amazing ways. Just look at my icon. =)
Final Verdict: Loved it. However, for full enjoyment, it's best that you don't know anything about it. Or, at least, don't know what really happens at the end.
