Happy Halloween!

I know I don't update but once or twice a month, but I usually check in and read my friends list every couple of days. But when I went to my friends list today I realized I hadn't even been doing that for most of the month. Where did the time go?!? Loved reading everything you've been up to ( Read more... )

Happy belated Halloween! I opted to hang out with sis this year, walking a whopping 45 minutes with two of the kids around their new neighborhood. Not really worth the 25 minute drive to her house, but at least it was something different. It drizzled the entire night, so it was a bummer. Today was seeing Benedict's Hamlet, which was SO LONG that I started dozing at the hour fifteen minute mark.

I didn't watch Rocky Horror this year, but I did catch the Time Warp on the radio, and sis and I sang bits of it while we were walking around in the cold. Only Anthony Head could beat Tim Curry as Dr Franknfurter :)

I don't watch much TV anymore. I have finally finished watching all of classic Trek (some I had never seen before), and when it had it's very remarkable episodes, it had some major clunkers. *shudder* Same goes for Doctor Who. The two-parter with The Girl who Died/the Woman who Lived was very good, while anything with Clara drags it all down. I love Capaldi, and he does wonders with what he gets, but he's scraping to get some of the clunkier episodes to work.

I breezed through the first few eps of Arrow, SPN, Reign and iZombie, but I'm not feeling much of anything with the exception of Reign, just because it feeds my love of (un)historical theatrics. I have to finish up Fargo season 1, then some of the British shows I've had in my queue forever. Finished 3 books this year; yay!

You're heading back to Pasadena! Thanksgiving I will be spending with the Eighth Doctor and River Song. :) Then hopefully next April, I will be spending a Saturday with the Tenth Doctor, if I can get the VIP pass before they sell out.

This is going to be the oddest holiday season. We're doing Thanksgiving a week late since no one will be in town, and I don't know where Christmas will be held. We're all broke, so I want to tell sis and mom that us adults do not need presents, and to just get stuff for the two youngest kids. They get enough crap as it is, but J-bird is only 5 years old. She still needs to have Christmas.

I have to finish up Fargo season 1

The second season is every bit as good, so when you can you need to watch that too. :)

Where are these DW events you're going to?

I'm looking forward to going to CA just to get out of this freaking record heatwave we're having. I know the LA area has been very hot this year too, but it looks like they're back to more seasonable temps - at least in the 70's. I'll take it!

I think the holidays get stranger every year as everyone's situations change. We just play it by ear now. ;)

Paul McGann and Alex Kingston are at Chicago Tardis, Thanksgiving weekend. David Tennant will be HERE for Wizard World April 2, 2016. There's no way I'm not going when he's in my backyard. Only way to get to see him in person though, is to buy the VIP pass, but it gets the autograph, photo and assurance of the front rows of his Q&A. Totally worth it. And there's David Tennant's Richard II in Brooklyn next year also, but that may be off the table if I blow $400 on one VIP ticket :) I have repairs that need to be done to the house, so those must, sadly, come first-ish.

You can always visit me if you want to escape the heat! We're in the 50s at night and mid-to upper 70s day. April will be mild in the 70s as well *grin*
