I decided to look through the month of October at
The Futon Critic to get an idea what/how much was premiering throughout the month that I am tentatively committed to checking out/watching.
SUN, 10/4: The Leftovers, season two, HBO. I'm interested to see where this show is going now that they've exhausted the original source material.
I gave up on Showtime's Homeland a couple years ago. I might check out the premiere on demand to see if it can pull me back in. I don't know what season they're up to - five?
By the end of the first season of The Affair, also Showtime, I knew I didn't like any of the characters, even though the competing POV angle was a little interesting, and there was a mystery looming. I've seen the promos and I'm not feeling the pull to tune back in - but I may watch this premiere on demand as well to see if it can wow me anyway. I like all the actors on this show.
TUE, 10/6: The Flash and iZombie both return to the CW for season two.
WED, 10/7: I gave up on Arrow, CW, halfway through last season, but I may dvr the fourth season premiere to see if I can care again. Of course, Supernatural returns as well for an 11th season, and right now I intend to dvr the show.
American Horror Story, FX, season five titled Hotel, returns with Lady Gaga in the lead role vacated by Jessica Lange after last season. I can't even envision it, but will definitely check it out.
THU, 10/8: I stopped watching both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, CW, last year. I'll probably dvr the premieres to see what's what, but right now I don't envision sticking with either. Is this the sixth or seventh season of TVD? Third season for The Originals.
And Haven returns to SyFy for its final fifth season run. The first part of the final season was so bad that I definitely didn't care when I read that it wasn't being renewed after this season. But I know Shatner is supposed to show up for a few episodes, and I definitely want to see what's up with his character, so I guess I'll stick with it through to the end - off the dvr.
SAT, 10/10: Something called The Last Kingdom premieres on BBCA. Could get really confusing if I'm still watching The Bastard Executioner at the same time. They look very similar, but I'll give the first episode a shot.
SUN, 10/11: The Walking Dead, season six, AMC.
MON, 10/12: FARGO, season two, FX!!!! Top of my CAN'T WAIT! list. The promos look incredible!
TUE, 10/13: Manhattan, season two, WGN.
FRI, 10/16: The Knick, season two, Cinemax.
FRI, 10/23: The third and final season of Hemlock Grove will be uploaded to Netflix. I'll get to it when I get to it.
MON, 10/26: Supergirl premieres on CBS, and every promo I've seen for this show has bored me into an unconscious stupor. But I'll check out the first episode anyway because it's genre, and maybe it'll be better than I think it's going to be. But I don't have high hopes.
TUE, 10/27: Wicked City on ABC looks like that network's answer to NBC's summer series Aquarius. I figure it's got to be better than Aquarius just on principle (sorry, David Duchovny, but the show was bad). I'll check out the premiere, but, again, don't have high hopes or serious interest right now, though it boasts some actors I like.
FRI, 10/30 NBC's Grimm still works for me all these years. I think we're up to season five?
SAT, 10/31 The promos for Starz's Ash vs the Evil Dead were hysterical. I think this is going to be a fun series.
Here's another far easier to read premiere date list.
