Productive vs nonproductive weekend

Last weekend I did nothing. Seriously, I spent my Saturday mostly sitting and staring - at the pc screen, at the tv, I don't know what the hell was wrong with me, but I couldn't motivate myself to do a single thing I needed or even wanted to do. On Sunday my only accomplishment was going to the movies with The Spousal Unit. We saw The Cabin in the Woods, which was a lot of fun. Bloody, sure, but fun. Classic Joss Whedon on a bigger stage.

Yesterday I finally accomplished the big chore I'd been putting off, and that was clean out the file cabinet and toss a ton of paper, and file away a stack of about half that. I also did laundry, and hit the UPS store and grocery store. So TSU and I treated ourselves to dinner out, then came home, opened a bottle of wine, and watched Bridesmaids On-Demand. When the movie was over we thanked the scheduling gods that kept us from having time last summer to see that flick at the theater, and pay for it. I swear we don't understand the raves. *shaking head*

Today one of TSU's friends, who lives in Virginia, has been in town for a few days and he's coming over for dinner tonight. We'll have to kick him out before Game of Thrones comes on, though. ;)

A couple weeks ago The Girl Child received official confirmation of her spot in the St. John's Archaeological Field School for the Summer B session, July 2 - August 10. Sounds like an exciting study - which means we're stuck babysitting the grumpy dwarf rabbit for six weeks, or longer if TGC comes home after graduating in August until she either finds a job or decides on a grad school. That's the uncertain part which concerns me.

I was going to talk some fannish stuff, but instead I think I'll go read for a while before I have to start putting together dinner. :)
