The one downside to putting up Halloween decorations and using a Halloween-theme to skin your LJ is that one minute past midnight of Oct 31, it's all way past it's expiration date. They just don't work the second Halloween is over. It's not like Christmas decorations that can say up until New Years. ;)
Luckily this year we opted for fall decorations around the house because we just don't have time to decorate for three holidays between Oct-Dec (it's becoming increasingly harder to do that any year). But as soon as I get back to the Hellmouth tonight, I will have to sit down and change out my LJ theme because it's already bugging me. ;) I could do it now, but I'm trying to update and check a bunch of stuff on
vala3's PC before I have to head out to pick up The Girl Child and her roommate to hit our family function by 1:00.
Thanks again,
vala3, for the use of the digs! I know you're traveling home right now and won't see this until later - I hope you and
sporangia are being safe on the roads.
Had a good day yesterday. The drive to Gainesville was relatively stress-free, not a lot of traffic, and the town overall was pretty quiet with so many folks having gone to Jacksonville for the annual Gator/Bulldog match-up (we won!).
Dropped off my stuff at the house, then met up with
wpadmirer at the Books-A-Million coffee shop for frappuccinos and good conversation. As soon as I met her, I knew it was her, if that makes sense. I know I've seen her before - probably at a past ConneXions, best we could figure out. She is as fabulous as I knew she would be. :D
Then I headed over to UF and The Girl Child's dorm, picked up the girls, and we went out to dinner, then hit the mall for a while. Dropped everyone off after that (big Halloween party plans for the young'uns), hit Target and picked up three bags of candy, got back to the house just in time to start handing it out. Went through almost two bags, and probably would have started on the third had I gotten home before 8:00. I'll give the girls the left-overs as I know we have some left-overs already back at the Orlando abode.
Chatted with The Spousal Unit on the phone, watched a little TV, did some reading, and hit the sack. Though I didn't get much sleep, for some reason. Got up this morning, showered, and drove to the Barnie's down the road for iced tea and a muffin. All in all, a nice relaxing 24 hours. :)
