Fall Cleaning

Motivated the family for cleaning both our bathrooms.  They were over joyed (NOT) but it was badly needed.  Military has been crazy as usual, just when you think you can't get rid of one more thing, they come up with more items to be moved or shipped.  Due to budgetary cut backs they cut renewing the private helping me, and are sending him to Afgan.  Also two other sargents helping me are being cut back to temp tech which means a sizable pay cut.  They are deciding if they will continue.  I on the other hand being "deployed" will stay on as supply sargent whether I want to or not.  (I have not choice)  The other guys have not job other then the military, I however have a civilian job that pays quite well.  Kind of ironic.  Yesterday put out fertalizer on my pine tree forest I am growing, and ant bait to kill all these nasty red ant mounds popping up in the yard.  Been playing a lot of Evony.  Need to finish mowing the yard, but it has been so wet.  Atlanta floods and all.  Fortunately were we live we did not have to deal with flooding.  I got my NOLS catalogue, for 15k I could be hiking New Delhi or New Zealand.  Our camping trip to Florida was awesome, beach and surf in the morning and pool in the evening.  Kennedy Space center was awesome.  Kind of sad they are doing away with the Space Shuttles.  NASA says now they can service the space station with Titan rockets.  Feels like a step back.  But it makes sense.  The new goal is to establish a moon base.  How cool is that.  Makes me want to watch Forbidden Planet again.  By setting up a moon base they will learn how to establish a base on Mars.  It takes 2 days to get to the moon and 6 months to go to Mars.  Currently the limit for humans in space is 6 months because of the effects of zero gravity on the human body.  The Apollo rocket was simply awesome.  They have you go into the actual control room and simulate being at the launch and then you step out into this huge room and bam there it is the tail end of the rocking towering above you.  My kids were in awe, all you heard was "wow", followed by my son, who said, "cool car" as he ignores the giant rocket and looks at one of the astronauts white mustang.
