[saturday night surveys]
I haven't really celebrated Easter since I was about ten, haven't celebrated it at all since I got my own place, and, now that I can't eat chocolate, I don't even really acknowledge it aside from the Friday off. But I do like cooking on the weekends, so today I treated myself to:
•A New York Strip, pan-fried, with butter-and-red-wine pepper sauce
•Garlicky mashed redskin potatoes
•Spinach and cherry tomato salad with balsamic vinaigrette
•A sugar-free cupcake
and a glass of rosé Malbec. I have some Cutty Sark for after dinner too, and all in all it's been great - I love cooking.
Am still working on triopuri fic - it's almost done though, thank god. I've also been rewatching Queer as Folk - I'm on the last ep of S1 (;_;) - and it's giving me bunnies. Grgh. Plus I have a bunch of stuff I want to write for teamtheme before Fudoumine Month is up! It never ends. Though I suppose there are worse things to complain about. Like, you know. Complete lack of inspiration.

1. Do you like blue cheese? No. It kind of freaks me out, and I don't really like the taste either.
2. Have you ever smoked? Cigarettes? No. Though I smoked pot once.
3. Do you own a gun? Nope! Though I think this summer I'm going to take lessons. (Shh. It's research.)
4. What flavour do you add to your drink at sonic? I haven't eaten at Sonic in years, but I used to like their cherry limeade.
5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? Not usually, although I have a couple times recently when I had no idea what the fuck was wrong with me.
6. What do you think of hot dogs? They're fine for kids and fun for baseball games, but not so much with the food.
7. Favourite Christmas movie? Hrm. White Christmas, maybe? Although my Christmas tradition is always to listen to (and now to watch) Rent.
8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Water!
9. Can you do push ups? Yep! Usually only about 20 though.
10. Do you know the secret to a happy life? I don't know the secret, but the one that seems to be working for me is to make myself happy instead of depending on other people/places/things to do it for me.
11. What's your favourite piece of jewellery? The carnelian Maori twist (my power stone, and an awesome symbol) that I never take off.
12. Favourite hobby? Writing or singing, usually not at the same time.
13. Song you're listening to right now? I'm actually watching the last ep of QaF S1.
14. Do you have A.D.D.? Not diagnosed, no, though I do I have a dopamine deficiency, which is a related problem.
15. What's one trait you do not like about yourself? Out of everything, probably my health. But personality-wise, my tendency to be jealous, which is a symptom of my persistent insecurity.
