[high school meme]

Mar 07, 2008 21:14

Not much to report, really. Still sick, still adjusting to meds, etc etc etc. It's Friday though, and I plan to chill most of the weekend. Well. Except for the time I spend writing my triopuri fic and watching Coffee Prince with mighty_gratira. :D Maybe I'll have something more interesting to say tomorrow when I'm more coherent. But in the interim, have a meme!

1. Did you date someone from your school?

XD; I never know how to answer this. I dated a lot of boys in senior high school, but they were all gay. I slept with a lot of boys in senior high school too, but again, same thing. I did have one boyfriend my freshman year, but he broke up with me and hooked up with my best friend instead.

2. Did you win anything in Senior's Who's Who?

Naw.

3. What kind of car did you drive?

I used to drive my dad's '86 Toyota Camry, but when I was a senior, I got a '99 Ford Escort.

4. It's Friday night...where r u at?

Musical/play rehearsals, probably, either official or not-. Maybe improv club, maybe out to dinner with the theatre crowd, maybe working on litmag, or maaaaybe running to make it back to the dorm before curfew.

5. Were you a party animal?

HAHAHA. Not...in the conventional sense? I had a lot of parties though, mostly involving obscene amounts of junk food and video games until 5AM.

6. Were you considered a flirt?

One of my friends accused me of trying to steal his boyfriend by eating ice cream at him. >.> Apparently my oral fixation was a lethal weapon, or something like that.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?

All of the above. I was in band freshman and sophomore years (and colourguard sophomore year), orchestra for a bit in sophomore year, and then choir after that, and I was in charge of the musical etc. in senior high school.

8. Were you a nerd?

I went to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. We were all nerds.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?

Naw. I think I got doc'd a few times for...noise, or something, but I can't really remember.

10. Can you sing the fight song?

I could play my high school's when I was in band, but my senior high school didn't have one.

11. Who were your favorite teachers?

In high school - Mr Stanton (humanities), Mr Dean (chemistry), Mr Hitt (band), Ms Lilley (English/humanities). In senior high school - probably Dr Donahue, because his idea of a bio class was talking about how to kill people. XD I also had a lab TA who was a complete stoner and whose favourite TV show was Teletubbies, but sadly I don't remember his name. And I had an English teacher I really liked...Mr Hagood I think it was. But god, I don't remember high school that well.

12. Where did you sit during lunch?

Er. Heh. That depends, I suppose? In high school, for awhile I sat with the mathnerds, and then with the humanities people who were also choir/theatre people, and then in senior high school, when I chose to brave the cafeteria(s), I sat with whomever I saw that I felt like talking to. I can't really say we ever had set tables or anything. It was more like 'how many people can we cram around a round table today?'

13. What was your school's full name?

Jasper High School, and then the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas.

14. School mascot?

In high school, the jaguar (or jagwire, as my classmates like to say -.-); in senior high, the school mascot was the flaming star (explains so much about me, doesn't it?), but my class's mascot, because we each got to pick one, was Pedro the Mexican chicken.

15. Homecoming court?

God, I don't remember. I probably should, since I was friends with most everyone who was nominated, but...hell. XD My junior year, Prom King was an imaginary person, so really, none of us gave that much of a shit about court.

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?

Depends. Do you mean would I go back to high school now at 25, or would I go back to high school at 16 knowing what I know now? Because definitely no on the former, but on the latter, I might be tempted, mostly to redo some of my classes so I could do them properly and also taking what I know now into the theatre and music stuff we did, but I was already weird enough at 16 - I think me now might just scare the shit out of everyone I knew back then.

17. What do you remember most about graduation?

The night before, when we were trying to hang out and sign yearbooks since we prolly wouldn't see any of these people again, and the RAs tried to smoke us out of the room by burning popcorn.

18. Where did you go senior skip day?

Uhhhh. I don't think we had one of those. We had after-prom, which we spent at a ranch, which was kind of awesome, and then we probably spent the day after sleeping. I don't really remember. XD

19. Have you gained some weight since then?

Yes and no? I mean, yes, numbers-wise, I have, but I still fit into a lot of the clothes I used to wear then.

20. Who was your Senior prom date?

Ahahahaha. I went with three and left with five. *cough* I asked Max first, and then we both asked Joseph, and then I asked Will, who I had a super-huge crush on, and we went as a little four-some (though I think Will was a bit...weirded out by the whole thing XD), and then Robert and his boyfriend asked me to leave with them, so we all six left together. It was really adorable, actually.

21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?

You know, I don't know. I might consider it, but I have no idea where I'm going to be come 2010.

22. Who was your home room teacher?

I...don't think I had one of those since the eighth grade.

23. Who will repost?

Good question.

24. Did you play any sports?

Marching band/colourguard in high school, which was quite a workout, especially in August in Texas, and then improv in senior high was totally heart-pumping. Also I did a lot of dancing. Like, a lot.

25. Do you still talk to people from school?

Yep! Aside from Facebook-ing, three of my closest friends are people I met through theatre in senior high. There's one person from high school I still speak to on a quasi-regular basis, and we still get along amazingly, which I find totally awesome. And my childhood best friend actually transferred to my senior high when I was a senior and he was a junior, so while that doesn't count, it still kinda does.

26. What year did you graduate?

2000

Wow, that was certainly a blast from the past. You know, I had typed up a music meme a couple months ago and then ultimately decided not to post it, and I guess I must've deleted the file, which is a shame because I kind of want to do it now. Maybe I'll redo it and post that later or something. Meanwhile, whoever wants to repost this one totally should, because I'm curious. I'd love to know. XD

meme, me:hs
