I had the best Saturday ever this weekend. Seriously!
Massive Playdate - 9am
The always awesome
caughtinaflame invited me and Talon over for a playdate and two of my buddies from back in the day showed up with their daughters in tow as well! It was super fun having a house FILLED UP with kids, and being able to catch up and actually socialize with some super duper women. I really reeeeaaallly reeeaaaalllly missed having that dynamic in my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity to prove how much I've changed. I know it's going to take time, even though at the playdate everything seemed as if we all picked up right where we left off, I know there are scars, I put them there. I finally had the opportunity to apologize in earnest [and not in a facebook message] for my past transgressions; something that has been years weighing on my heart, and I cannot even tell you how great it feels to finally know that I am working that out.
All of our kids are so amazing; seriously Zoe is one of my favorite kids EVER she is so fantastic and so sweet to the other kids; and Cora is so nearly walking its just adorable to watch those little unsure wobbles. And I just about died at how BIG Becca's daughter Ani has gotten. The last time I saw her she was 2 maybe 3 MONTHS old. I wanted to just hug her to pieces and tell her I was there when she was born and that she was partly named after me. But I didn't cus for one she doesn't know me really at all I didn't want to be too creepy just yet LOL. She is a living reminder to me of how much life I missed. All of her birthdays. /sigh! I also got to change Becca's newest's diaper lol, which isn't something I would think I would ever be excited about but such a tiny little butt!!! So cute!!!! AND
specialtash's daughter Ava looks JUST LIKE HER its almost eerie! She showed me a pic of her at the same age and I swear it was like looking at a pic of her daughter. Talon SO doesn't look like me that much. I need a daughter LOL! Talon is also super jealous of Ava's glasses, on Sunday he kept wanting to wear his sun glasses inside "like Ava", I was dying of cute!
Full Moon Ritual - 9pm
Then Saturday night I had the first open ritual of the year. This year I decided on doing full moon rites every month instead of doing Sabbats, and with that I decided on a good ole clubhouse "no boys allowed" rule. In a perfect world I could do both, but let's be honest here... I have not the time nor the energy to put together 2 full coven rites a month. Maybe one day I will meet a chicka who is as dedicated to the craft as I. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only "serious" pagan in this damn state. But then I remember back when I was new to the path and I flaked on a lot of gatherings and went months at a time without practicing. So I know its just part of the growth cycle. Anyway, lot's of ladies RSVP'd to the ritual, but by the time it came around, only 2 hadn't cancelled on me. So we had a nice little 3 person ritual, it's a good number anyway. I made a fire in the new fire pit, and we prayed for each other and talked about our blessings and our problems and gave it all to the Mother. I had googled the weather, and it was suppose to clear the cloud cover around 9pm, but it turned out that it was still overcast. However, without fail, every single time I spoke invocation or directly to the Mother, wouldn't you know a tiny little space in the clouds opened up and the moon would shine brightly, clearly, directly on us. It was amazing!
Sadly I had to work on Sunday, so I didn't get much of a weekend break, but Saturday's awesomeness more than made up for it :)
