Chris's grandmother passed away this past Friday. She was the one I never met because she wasn't the nicest of ladies [actually that whole side of the family isn't very nice at all] But it was his Grandma nonetheless so it was hard on him just going through the funeral stuff and seeing his dad and aunts upset. His dad had been working for them [his mom and dad] on their farm and that is where he got most of his money for bills and things from, so now that she passed, the sisters put their father in a home [he is suffering from severe senile dementia] so there is no farm to take care of anymore. Chris's parents have a shit-load of dogs, so they are trying to thin them out... Chris decided to bring home the 2 chihuahuas. I can't say I'm "upset" about it, cus they are sweet dogs; but we can't really afford them and I *just* had to give away my cats because of all this. So it was just extremely shitty timing. Chris has been pushing to get another small dog and I had been refusing, but he pitched these as rescues blah blah bottom line is I gave in and now we have 3 fucking dogs and the cat. On the up side, they are really tiny so they don't eat much [like Eva does!] and they are use to normal hard dog food so all 3 dogs can munch the same foodstuff. They are also really good with Talon and assimilated into the household fairly seamlessly. Even though they have been outside dogs in a pin for their entire lives, it has only taken 2 days to get them into the routine of going outside to potty. We've only had one poop accident inside and that happened on day 1; but they still get a little too excited sometimes and tinkle a tiny bit - but I'm pretty sure given a few more days they will figure that out too. They seem to be really smart.
http://i.imgur.com/nWB1Gh.jpg The white-ish one is called Lulu and is 13 years old and 1/2 blind, so we don't anticipate having her for very long; although she is rather spry for an old lady and she is extremely sweet. She has also taken over as leader of the pack and Eva totally let her do it without a fuss. The black/tan one is about 4 years old and was named "Lola" but has been neglected her whole life so has no idea what her name was. We thought "Lulu" and "Lola" were too close sounding for us so we re-named her Deville [like the Cadillac not Cruella] and are calling her Devi pronounces like Dee-Vee. Devi is pretty tiny like Kisses was and she should be with us awhile.
Anyway, they are overall pretty great dogs for having not been taken care of or trained or anything. So yeah. More pets though I am not a fan of.... maybe Chris will get a job soon and I can quit stressing about it :/
