Talon's Wiccaning!! Yay!
Talon's Wiccaning was on Saturday, June 18th, at 1pm. In attendance were:

For some reason, Chris decided that he needed his dad to come look at his car on Saturday morning, even knowing that the Wiccaning was that afternoon - he thought they'd be done by then. Well they weren't, so Chris told them what was going on, that people would be showing up soon for a baby blessing. So they wanted to stay and watch. Made me a total nervous wreck. (warranted since his dad went on a rampage a while ago about how Chris and I were "evil" because we don't think that Jesus Christ was a literal historical figure) His mom, Lani, though has always been sweet about my alternate religion, and inquisitive even. And looking back, I think it was a bigger deal to me than them; my own parents have just beat it into my brain that I can't talk about my religion with family. Its kind of sad, actually.
I was a bit uncomfortable, I felt like I needed to explain everything I was doing because they had never seen a Wiccan ritual before. I also didn't do some of the things I was wanting to, like do a formal circle casting and call specific deities - I dunno why, I just wasn't comfortable. I stumbled over my own words some in my speaking, and repeated myself too much, lol, but it actually went really well. I cried at the parent vows (no surprise there) and we had yummy food afterward! I made my signature curried tuna salad sandwiches and cupcakes with blue and gold stars; Chris made deep-fried bacon-wrapped tater-tots; and I bought some mixed fruit, a veggie tray, and chips. Was gewd!
