We started Sunday night sleeping Talon in his crib. Well I say "we", really its "I", lol.
Sunday night he did pretty good, slept for several hours then woke up very upset so I put him in bed with me (on a mattress in the floor in his room).
Monday night he woke up several times, and I rocked him back to sleep the first couple times, and put him in bed with me at the end of the night.
Tuesday was pretty much the same story, only he woke up while Chris and I were still up and watching Toy Story 3 (worst movie ever btw, I can't even believe how depressing it was for a kids flick) so Chris actually went in there to rock him back to sleep. It was his first time, so didn't go so well. I wound up going in and taking over, but Chris stayed and watched to see what all you had to do. The key is to make sure he is completely PTFO before trying to put him back in the crib - otherwise hysterical crying is immediate. He made some peeps more that night then woke up, standing up and screaming at some point in the night, so back in bed with me.
Last night I finally put a clock in his room, so I could keep better tabs on when he was waking up. He woke up some but was only doing the fuss thing a couple times, and soothed himself back to sleep. As long as he isn't standing up and wailing, I try to leave him alone. He had a few meeps and wiggles, but always went back to sleep. At some point he had squished himself all the way to the bottom of the crib, and got off the motion sensor so the alarm started to go off. Scared me to death, but I flipped it off before it woke him up and of course checked his skin and breathing. He was fine. Just balled up tight and snoozing away. He woke up for real at 2am and was wet and unhappy, so I changed diaper and BF and wound up passing out while doing so - so last 2 1/2 hours was in bed with me again.
He is really starting to get the hang of it, and I am totally confident that we will be sleeping in the crib, without me in there, by this time next week - for sure!
