YaoiCon was a bit overwhelming with the new people and invasion of personal space. What to say about that? I had a wonderful time. Cosplaying as Matsumoto was interesting and fun. I did get a lot of people groping or commenting on my breasts, as is to be expected in such a costume. We learned to race down hallways in a "Bleach Shuffle" and played strange fandom writing games. I didn't buy much of anything but then I didn't have much money. We lived off of Trader Joe's and had, by far, the healthiest con I've ever participated in.
It's strange to attempt to join oneself into a large group's dynamic and in some cases I did better than others. The person I miss the most from con? Dusty. Fandom-wise we had little in common, though we did babble at each other mercilessly to join into our preferred fandoms, but personality-wise we were kin. That was the most comfortable I have been with a new person in quite some time!
There was nothing in particular I can point to and state that that is what I enjoyed most at con. Really, it's not the convention I went for. Yes I like yaoi/yuri. And YES I prefer the con not to have 14 year old newbies. I like the atmosphere of the con - which is tolerance for other people's life styles and fandoms. Mostly, I enjoy the people.
I'll update later as we have people up and about now. XD
