I got a new digital camera last week and I am totally excited about it.
I have an older version of the same camera that I've had for years (and I love it) but I wanted to get something with more megapixels before my trip to New Orleans. Taking crappy pictures of such a beautiful city would make me sad.
This week my local drugstore (SDM) had a promotion where I could get more value for my 'optimum points' (like airmiles but easier to accumulate). I ended up using my points to buy the camera and in total I got $220 off. It was totally awesome for me because I never could have afforded the camera otherwise. I like using reward points for things that are 'treats'.
On Friday night I made a cozy for the camera. I used the pattern for a cell phone cozy from the book
One Skein Wonders. I just added five stitches to the width because my camera is a bit wider than my cellphone. I was very pleased with how it came out considering I just kind of winged it without a swatch. Its a perfect fit.
The yarn is from an old partial ball of wool that I had in my stash. I also had the matching ribbon and button which was cool, I HATE hunting for buttons.
I think that whenever I get a new phone I'll make one for that too. It was a fun, easy project. I may have to keep it in mind for Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, etc...
More later after I figure out how to download pictures off of the new camera.
