I did an internship in Champaign-Urbana and it's totally a great town. Lots of stuff to do and great restaurants and Chicago is super close. Plus, it's the Midwest (i.e. cheap cost of living).

I pay double the rent in Philly that I paid in Urbana. Ouch.

yea, i mean i could definitely handle living in champaign or even ann arbor, i just don't prefer it!

a lot of things i've read seem to say that atlanta and philly are fairly close on cost-of-living, so it probably wouldn't be much more than i'm used to already...

Yeah, I'd say if you don't mind having roommates, Philly can be alright. Most of my friends pay $500-$700 a month sharing a place. But in Urbana, I had a 1-bedroom for $475 a month.

I'm just partial to the Midwest!
