No time to eat!
So this was a day or so ago, when I met two ex-colleagues from Mumbai for dinner.
While on my second course for the evening, I happened to ask friend A why he wasn't eating much. He had his plate filled with some vegetables and that, in my book, doesn't constitute dinner. At least not in a restaurant, where you're eating a buffet dinner.
So, why aren't you eating, I ask curiously.
I don't have time to eat, he replies, rather matter of factly.
You can, of course, imagine my surprise as I picked up my jaws from the floor. For a foodie like me, who lives to eat, statements like these are difficult to digest.
And besides, it's the first time I've heard someone say that they're so busy that they don't have time to eat!
A confides that his whole day is jam packed with work. He works on his own. He's busy. He has no time to eat. And this is not something that's just because of a busy phase. It's been going on for more than a year.
I had no words. I went back to my third course instead :)
