atypical chit-chat at nordy's
something interesting happened at work today. this guy was trying to return a lacoste shirt, but he is a WA resident who was shopping in OR. i was unfamiliar w/the procedure to handle a tax exempt return w/o proper ID. as i was calling customer service, he and the guy next to him started chatting. the guy after him was trying to return some Sevens, and said to lacoste shirt guy that the jeans fit him too tight and made him look gay. so the lacoste shirt guy said "what did you say? what do you mean by that? because i'm gay." intense moment. i wouldn't have guessed him gay either. next he said, "would u like it if i said something looked 'nigger'"? interestingly enough, the Sevens guy appeared to be of african decent, but was indeed puerto rican (he pointed this out later). i thought there was gonna be trouble, but then the Sevens guy apologized and they shook hands and started talking like amigos. yay, no bloodshed.
