Let me add something: I'm one of those people that deny they need feedback, but I've noticed that usually I feel more like vidding (Supernatural) only when I've received a lot of positive comments in my last work. Otherwise I'll just be 'meh, I'll just vid to another fandom now'. This happened practically all the times I post, predictably, so I suppose it means I do care for fb, when I vid for a popular fandom.
At the same time I know my style, music and themes are not popular at all, so I don't care TOO much if I don't get fb. It's not like that's what makes me do things in the first place! It's just something that motivates me to do more and faster.
As for leaving fb, I'm one of those that always do it. To be precise I leave feedback to all the vids I watch (but I don't watch vids anymore because of my connection fail), and I leave fb to all the fics I like (I don't leave negative criticism to fics I don't like because I don't know anything about writing stories) . When it comes to icons or graphics, I admit that I look at those less. I only ever follow two or three icon-makers I know well, and I always comment when I snatch something. And when (VERY rarely) I find a drawing or a graphic I like I leave a comment too.
Oh another thing, sometimes when I'm in a hurry and I've just read a fic with hundreds comments I tend not to leave fb because I'm like 'well, no way she/he would care about the 101th comment anyway'.
Noooo,I don't believe for a second there are people who don't like or care about feedback! We do what we do because we like it right?And we would do it in any case right?Obviously if we can share it and also talk about it etc... is even better right? And what about meeting people?!!?How do you think you can start a friendship if you always lurk and never talk?:P
