20 Things I love and hate ...
Last summer around this time we spent almost 3 weeks touring parts of Europe. We saw Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and France. It was a great trip, but as with any vacation there was the good and the bad. I was feeling reflective today so here are a pair of lists that I came up with of 20 things I loved and hated on our trip. They are in no order and not everyone may agree with them ...
I really love ...
1. The full Irish breakfast
2. The city of York
3. The City of London
4. Lasagna with chips
5. American Cemetery on Omaha Beach
6. Guinness in Dublin
7. Chinese food in Edinburgh
8. Cab drivers in Glasgow
9. Shopping all around Piccadilly Circus
10. Dollhouse shops in York
11. Helpful old ladies at French bus stops
12. Walking the walls of the old city in London Derry
13. Great Japanese food just outside your Paris hotel
14. Cruising down the Thames/Walking along the River Seine
15. The sculpture garden in the Louvre
16. Free dessert for noticing the restaurant kitchen was on fire
17. Hole in the wall laundromats
18. Walking the endless streets of Paris
19. Cozy Bed and Breakfasts
20. Hambleys Toy store in London
I really dislike ...
1. How expensive the London tube is
2. London Derry, Northern Ireland
3. French cider
4. Irish/Scottish/British Coca-Cola
5. The Chunnel (unless you need pure speed)
6. The Centre Pompidou in Paris
7. How crowded Paris is in the summer
8. Shopping on the Champs E' lyse
9. Having to Walk back from Dover castle
10. Hotels without air conditioning
11. Being given the worst table in the hotel restaurant (twice)
12. The exchange rate of dollars to pounds
13. Air France's new automated check-in system
14. Train depots with lots of stairs
15. Trains with all announcements in French
16. How touristy Notre Dame is (show some respect)
17. The smell in the Louvre
18. Having to tip in nasty French train station bathrooms
19. Paying by the stop on buses
20. Catching a cold in London
Note: I could have probably listed a hundred things I enjoyed! Coming up with 20 on the dislike list was actually hard. I'm sure that Tokraed has her own list as well!
