Summary: Nino is a prince and heir to the throne. His father (who has never cared for him) remarries and he is left with a new 'brother'. Stcuk with a family that doesn't like him, his only friend is a certain green squirrel. One day a stranger saves Nino from drowning and Nino falls for him. But it seems his new 'brother' doesn't want Nino to get him. Worse yet, Nino's father has some more surprises for him.
A/N: This is my first Arashi fanfic. Hope you guys like it. Please don't steal my story. thanks.
Chinen stared at Nino for a while, then he smirked.
“Where have you been?”
“What does it matter to you?” Nino sneered.
Chinen chuckled. He pushed himself off the wall and walked towards Nino.
“It matters because the heir to the throne is missing and no one knows where he is…although I still don’t understand why father has selected you as the heir. You’re not worthy of the other princes who father will select you to marry.” Nino glared. He didn’t want to say anything because it wasn’t worth it. Chinen was just trying to provoke him.
“Hmm you’re boring. Well hope father choses Oguri-san as your future husband. Heard he is very ‘pleasant’ with his lovers…Either way as long as he doesn’t pick any of my choices for myself, it’s all good.”
With that Chinen left. Nino sighed in relief. He walked into his room and went to lie on his bed. Aiba-chan went to his makeshift house by the window.
“Ne, Nino-chan…”
“What is it Aiba-chan?”
“I really wish your father would make Chinen the heir. That way you could leave this place and live in the kingdom of whoever you marry.”
“I do too Aiba. He’s set on keeping me here to torture me. He also made sure that when he is gone there are still people here to torture me.
He just had to marry that vile woman who is 20 years younger than him.” Nino shivered.
“What’s wrong Nino?”
“I was thinking about what Chinen said. I don’t want to be married to Oguri-san. I’ve heard such horrible things about what he does to his
lovers…Come to think about, I don’t know any of the nice princes. Father always introduces them to Chinen.” They were quiet for a while.
“I wonder who Ohno-san is…”
Nino didn’t receive a reply. He looked over the window. Aiba was asleep in his little bed. Nino smiled and gazed outside the window. The moon was up. He liked the moon. It was a calming blue color and it was so peaceful. His thoughts were drawn back to Ohno-san. He was such a handsome man and so brave. He wondered if they would meet again. He hoped so. He hadn’t met anyone who was ever concerned about him since his mother died when he was five. That was twenty years ago. He missed his mother. Nino turned away from the window and fell asleep with a silent tear escaping from his eye.

The next morning Nino woke up to Aiba bouncing all over his chest.
“Nino! Wake up!”
“What is it?”
“Your father is taking you to meet another prince.”
Nino threw the covers over his head. Not again. Great he would be gone a week at the least.
*****************
Turns out the prince they were meeting was Oguri-san. Nino dreaded the trip. Once they were there Oguri-san hadn’t paid him much attention; thankfully. He had his current interest wrapped around him. On the way back his father decided to make a stop in the town they ruled over. Nino took this as his chance to escape. He walked around and enjoyed the different music being played by the town’s people. He spotted a familiar looking blue cape. The person was turning the corner. Nino rushed after him in hopes of catching up to him.
After he turned the corner, he couldn’t see him anymore. ‘Where did he go?’ He continued down the road. He passed some houses and then he heard a commotion by the woods. He headed towards the edge of the woods and found the blue caped-person struggling with something. He also heard angry voices.
“Ohno-san?”
The figure turned around and Nino saw something fly into the trees.
“Ah Nino-san! What are you doing here?”
“I was just taking a walk. Is everything alright?” Ohno gave him a blank look. His eyes looked sleepy now that he wasn’t concerned anymore.
Nino wonders why he hadn’t noticed before.
“I heard angry voices…”
“Oh that. Just some friends of mine were having a disagreement. I’m actually glad we ran into each other. I was hoping we would meet earlier but it seemed like you disappeared.”
Nino’s heart skipped a beat. So Ohno-san thought about him too?
“I was out of town for a week.”
“Oh I see. Well glad you are back. About why I was looking for you. I know you like squirrels…”
Nino stopped listening. He had gotten excited for nothing (-_-‘). He just wanted to talk about squirrels.
“Nino-san?” Nino came back to reality.
“Eh…sorry…could you say that again?”
“Would you accept this present?” Nino blanched. Present?
“Eeeeeeh!? What present?”
Ohno walked towards him and grasped his hands. He placed something furry in his palm and released him. He looked at his hand. There, on his palm was a red squirrel. It was sleeping…or so he thought. It looked more like it had been knocked out.
“Eto…Thank you…but is there something wrong with it?”
“Aa…I’m sorry. I didn’t intend to give him to you in this condition. His current state being like this is because of the angry voices you heard earlier.” So the squirrel was a he. Wait…
“How?!” Ohno looked sheepish.
“You did this?!” Ohno’s eyes grew wide.
“No, no, no! It was a friend of mine.”
“What kind of friends do you have? Poor defenseless squirrel.”
Then something flew out of the trees and smacked him in the face. Ohno looked alarmed and reached for the thing…person in question. As it was drawn away from his face, he could hear someone speaking.
“Poor defenseless squirrel my ass! That rodent has done nothing but be a pest! He chewed up all my new outfits!”
Nino finally focused on the screaming creature. In Ohno’s hand was a fairy and it was still yelling at him. His gaze turned to Ohno who just shrugged.
“Your friend is a fairy?”
“I am not a fairy!”
Nino looked at the ‘fairy’. He had styled hair and was wearing some bizarre purple outfit. Then he saw a pair of wings. Well if he wasn’t a fairy what was he? Ohno released him and he fell on the floor. He picked himself up and dusted himself in a semi-dainty way.
“You’re a fairy.”
The ‘fairy’ glared at him and then smirked. He raised his hand and Nino was zapped.
“Ouch!” Jun laughed.
“Jun stop it!” Ohno shouted before Jun could zap Nino again. Jun looked at Ohno like he wanted to argue but he saw the look on Ohno’s face and glared at the ground and zapped a cricket instead. Nino looked at Ohno who looked apologetic.
“Now I know why the squirrel is that way…”
“Gomen…he’s actually a wizard. He has a fiery temper. He doesn’t normally look like that. He can make himself smaller.”
“So…he’s a wizard who likes to become a fairy?”
“Hey!! Why I ought to…” Ohno grabbed Jun and threw him into a nearby bucket of water.
“It’s best not to irritate him more then he already is. He grows wings when he is smaller so he can get around faster.”
Nino nodded and wisely stopped making fun of Jun. He looked at the squirrel. Aiba would like a friend his size.
“Does he have a name?”
“It’s Sho. He’s been a friend of mine for years but I’m afraid Jun will end up killing him. So I figured I could give him to you. He already knew about it and he agreed.”
Nino was stunned. He had only known Ohno for a day before now and he wanted to give him a precious friend of his.
“Why me?”
“Because you seem like you would take good care of him. You’re a good person even if you can be snarky.” Ohno answered, gaining a surprised look from Nino
How do you know that?” replied Nino amused, and Ohno smiled.
“Well it came out while you were talking to Jun…and I did meet up with Aiba-chan at one point. Why didn’t you take him with you on your trip?”
“Oh it wasn’t a trip where pets were welcome…Did Aiba meet Sho?”
“No…he was unconscious at the time.” Nino looked at the bucket were Jun was getting himself out of it.
“I didn’t do it. The idiot fails at everything…including climbing trees ironically!”
Oh boy. He was stuck with a squirrel who couldn’t climb trees.
By the time Nino got back to the castle, the sun had set and Sho was still out. Although he seemed to come to when he reached the hallway where his room was located.
“Have a nice nap?” Nino asked while Sho was looking at him.
Sho replied in surprise, “Are you Nino?”
Nino nodded. “Ah that’s good. Guess I will finally meet this Aiba-san. Anyway so you finally met with Ohno-san again.” Sho continued his friendly speech.
“Yes. I’m glad. I missed him.” Nino said honestly.
Sho gave him a look as he entered his room. Just as Nino was about to ask about that, Aiba flew onto his face and screamed, “Nino-chan I missed you! Don’t leave me again please.” Which gained a big laugh from Nino.
Aiba let go of him and climbed onto his shoulder. He noticed Nino holding something. He looked at Sho. Sho smiled at him and waved. “I’m Sho. Nice to meet you.” Aiba waved back automatically. He didn’t say anything for a while. Finally he said “Very cuticle!” and he pounced on Sho.
A/N: Hope you liked it! I love Aiba's Engrish so I will be using it in the story =).
