Ah, wasn't as bad this time around.

Here are some of my strategies:

1. Instead of using my hearts and/or potions up front, I used the Magic Armor, especially against Archers. After careful thought, I realized that the game gives you a lot of cash in the caves, but not many hearts. Thus, use the Magic Armor more than potions.
