But Chuck Yeagar IS God. At least to pilots. They cultivate variants on his voice for keeping calm during crises. Really.

It is indeed true, but I don't have a source on hand.

However, I suggest you compare recordings of him with the recording of the pilot who did the safe landing in the Hudson in 2009. I don't remember if he used the accent, but the tone and emphasis is the same.
