Been another while

My old blog anikamari got wiped out. I wasn't 100% aware of it because my brother bought the domain long ago so he didn't renew it which equals no recovery possible.

Kind of sort of a bit of a bummer. One part of me is ok to let it go, the other part wishes I still had those posts and had transferred them all to my current site when I first set it up. Ah well.

Somehow I got the idea to check out my LJ account. Part of me wondered if it too had been labeled defunct and deleted, but gladly it is still here! It is kind of fun to see that I did share a lot of my art from the anikamari days, so in some ways those posts are not entirely lost, even if I did change the text to suit the audience over here.

It's also fun to read through some of the random posts I've made over the years. The odd poem, a description of my travels or an ordinary day. I have no idea if I'll keep it up at all, but I thought it might be fun to return to live journal and use it as intended: as a journal. When I write on my blog, its very specific: it's about my art and my process. I don't write random thoughts or descriptions of my life. I'm thinking it'll be fun to get back to a space where I feel free to just write whatever. I'm fairly certain no one from my friends list here is active any more, so it's likely no one will ever read this (besides me) and I'm ok with that. (If you do happen to be reading this and aren't me, feel free to leave a comment! I'd love to hear from you!)

So to start out with, I thought I'd share about my day. Very typical in many ways. I woke up at 11:30. Late-ish, but not as late as some days. My throat feels a little sore. Kinda like allergies, but since there's snow on the ground, that doesn't make much sense to me.

The other night when it was snowing I had the idea to take long exposure photos (25 seconds is the longest I can do on my camera) from my second story window. After a few tries I decided to turn on the flash in addition to the 25 second shutter. The result was a moody winter landscape with bright blue, white spots scattered across the frame where the flash had reflected. So pretty. I'll have to post a photo if I remember it.

Anyway, I had some left over quinoa casserole for breakfast/lunch. I also ate some cheese and prosciutto while waiting for the casserole to heat up. I did a little work on the DS website, lounged around the internet, thought about doing various things but didn't really do any of them. Vacuumed the house, heated up spinach dip and left over mashed potatoes for dinner.

Tomorrow I'm going to meet up with a friend for lunch and a movie. Maybe I'll write about it here tomorrow!
