Chapter 2 ~Hard memories~
Ryoko blinked her eyes. Everything was dark.
“Mama?” Ryoko woke up to notice her mother smiling before her.
“Mama!!!”
Her mother disappeared before her eyes.
“Papa? Papa!!! No! Wait!” Her hand stretched out for her father but he faded away.
A shot was heard. Ryoko felt sure it was all over
Ryoko suddenly shot up from her bed. She held her head as it was aching.
“Oh yeah…I am living with John-ojii-chan’s boys…” Ryoko rubbed her head which had been aching.
“You are awake finally! You slept through the whole morning and afternoon. We were worried you were sick. I guess its jet lag ne?” Takaki asked smiling at the girl.
“Huh….Un…I am sorry for troubling you….I…I”
“You don’t have to apologize, it’s okay! Calm down.”
“Sorry…..”
“Anyways, why don’t you get a bit fresh? You might be hungry?”
“Yeah…Thank you.”
“Me and Hika will heat it up for you. The others should be back from school already…”
“Un~”
Ryoko walked to the bathroom after taking a bottle from her bag. She shut the door and quickly gulped the tablet down. She must have got anemic again.
She changed in to a different set of clothes and walked down stairs. The dream was still horrifying her. For a minute she was sure everything was gone.
“Here are some pancakes with some strawberry jam…” Hikaru placed the plate in front of Ryoko.
“You have a lot of strawberry products….” Ryoko said as she bit into her food.
“We have a strawberry addict with us.” Hikaru replied grimacing.
“Oh……..My mum said she was a strawberry addict when she was pregnant with me.” Ryoko smiled.
“So, you like strawberries?”
“As long as they are not hybridized.”
“Hybridized?”
“Un….those hybrids taste sick.”
“Your mom likes them?”
Ryoko stopped eating and put her fork down. Her eyes filled up with tears.
“My….My parents passed away in an accident…” Ryoko said, pretending to be calm.
“Ahhh……sorry about that…..we….” Hikaru look uncomfortable.
“It’s okay….I am used to it I guess….” Ryoko replied smiling.
“Tadaima!” Ryosuke, Yuto, Chinen and Ryutaro called out.
Ryoko bowed on seeing them and got up.
“Ehhh? Strawberries??? I want one too!” Ryosuke pleaded.
“So, is he your strawberry addict?” Ryoko asked grinning.
“The one and only!” Takaki grinned.
“Oh Ryoko! Tomorrow, you are joining us to practise!” Chinen yelled.
“huh…un…okay….” Ryoko nodded.
“Don’t sleep in!” Yuto teased as he ruffled her hair.
Ryoko blushed and smiled. Her father used to do that. She felt tears filling in; she continued to smile to hide her sorrow, not knowing that Ryosuke was watching her, concerned.
~Night time~
“Mou….darn Chinen…making me watch that movie! Why does Yuto have to snore?!?!?” Ryosuke complained as he walked downstairs.
He suddenly stopped; the moonlight fell on a lone person by the window. Ryoko.
“You scared me!” Ryosuke blurted out as he recognized her.
“Gomene….” Ryoko replied softly.
Ryosuke walked towards her and lifted her face to look at him. He had seen it right, she had been crying. Ryoko blushed as she looked at him.
“Why are you crying?” Ryosuke asked softly.
“Eh? No no…I am not…Yes…I am not crying…I am not…I….I just don’t know why tears are falling out…I…” Ryoko started to blubber as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Ryosuke pulled her into his arms.
“Just cry it out already…You have gone through enough…” He said smiling as he stroked her hair.
“Why?”
“Huh?”
“Why can I open up to you?”
“I don’t know…”
“Why? It’s easier to talk to you….” Ryoko mumbled, her eyes closed.
Tears hung at her eyelids. Ryosuke could push the surge of pity that was clouding him. Pity for the girl who was trying to live on.
~Next day~
Ryoko watched as the boys prepared for the screen shoot for their PV. They were amazing.
“So what do you think? Who is the coolest among us?” Takaki grinned.
Ryoko looked up and looked at each of the boys. Some of them were reading, some were fooling around. Her eyes rested on Ryosuke who was busy showing off a skill with a knife.
Takaki followed Ryoko’s stare and grinned.
“I see, Yama-chan is the coolest…” He looked at her slyly.
“I did not say….” Ryoko blushed.
“You were looking at him and blushing….” He grinned more evilly.
“What fooling around is going on here?!?!?”
Everyone turned to see Johnny-san looking at them sternly.
“Johnny-san?!?!?” Takaki straightened up.
“My niece was here, so I was checking on her.” Johnny-san replied calmly and smiled.
Ryoko sighed and started to look around. She was just walking across a room when someone covered her eyes. Ryoko started struggling when the person pulled her in front of him.
“It’s me…” Ryosuke sighed.
“Sorry…I got scared.” Ryoko blushed.
“You were looking around?”
“Un….”
“You are shy…”
“Um…because…”
Ryoko stopped. Her eyes suddenly went wide. Ryosuke noticed she was shaking, her hands rose to her head. She clutched her head and screamed.
“Ryoko!!!” Ryosuke tired to calm her down.
“What’s going on?” Johnny-san reached the scene with the others.
“I don’t know, she just started to scream.” Ryosuke replied as he hugged Ryoko who was still screaming.
“Mama….Papa…….” Ryoko muttered and fainted in Ryosuke’s arms.
“Boys….I have something to confess.” Johnny-san sighed.
What was going on? The boys looked at each other.
“Ryoko is not going through an easy time, in fact, if we be even slightly careless, she maybe killed.” Johnny-san said softly.
“Ryoko….”
