Plot: Having lost his parents and forced to live with abusive relative, Yamada Ryosuke is finds his solstice in school. While doing one of his aunt’s orders, he kind off saves a strange and crazy girl. She is so grateful, that she starts to hang out with him. To her, Yamada is more than a friend but to him, she is an angel in between the demons.
Chapter 1 ~A new beginning~
~Yamada’s POV~
“Yama-chan!” My best friend Yuto called out to me.
“Hey!”
“Are you staying today?”
“No, I have to hurry!”
“Come on!”
“I can’t sorry, some other time.” I replied and hurried home.
I knew I was in for it…My aunt was going to hit me today for sure. I am not a lucky kid like people think I am. My parents died in an accident when I was 15. Since then for these 3 years I have been living with them. They hate me.
“There you are you useless boy!” My aunt smacked me.
“Where were you boy? We were waiting too long!” My aunt threw his sake bottle at me.
It hit me square on the shoulders. I winced; my shoulder was bleeding a bit.
“Go get the groceries!”
“Yes” I replied and left. I managed to get my shoulder bandaged. I purchased the groceries and walk back home. That was when I met her. I met Narumi Reina.
~End of Yamada’s POV~
“Are you Narumi Reina?” A masked guy asked a young girl who had been minding her own business.
“Yeah, so?”
“We are here to kidnap you!”
“Which of the girlfriend’s guys are you?”
“You father sued my brother and now he has been caught!”
“Oh….get a life dude!”
The man rushed at her. Reina simply stepped out of the way. The man tripped and fell flat on his face.
“It will take a million year before you can attack me ass!” Reina grinned was about to walk away when he suddenly grabbed her. He was about to strike her when the man suddenly grunted and staggered to the ground.
A boy pulled her away from the alley. Reina looked at him gratefully.
~Yamada’s POV~
I was walking by when I noticed a man grab a girl and was about to hit her, so I quickly rushed at him and hit him in the head.
I pulled her with me and ran away from there. We stopped near a lamp post near my house.
“Hey! Thank you so much!” She smiled.
“Yeah, it’s okay…” She looked familiar.
“You are Yamada-kun ne?”
“How do you know?”
“Who does not know you? You are called a prodigy in school. I am sure even my daddy darling could not do so well in high school.”
“I don’t know about that.”
“I do, he failed every class in our grade!” She laughed.
I could not help but laugh with her. She spoke things so casually. Now I remembered her. Reina…Narumi Reina. She was the famous Narumi Takeru’s daughter. Her father’s a lawyer.
“But as much as he was a pathetic person in academic in school, he was considered a latent prodigy in law school. Ha!” She smiled at me.
“See you in school I guess” I replied and walked home.
I entered the house. My aunt glared at me and pulled the grocery away from me. My uncle glared as well. I walked to my room.
“Narumi Reina…..weird girl.” I muttered and did my homework.
~Next morning~
I got up early and did my usual morning routines. I quickly left home. I did not want any scene with my aunt and uncle.
I knew I was early. I was walking when I noticed Reina was walking ahead of me. She was loud enough for everyone to hear.
“Daddy! I told you, it’s no biggie! I was saved, you don’t have to walk me to school and why the hell are you taking me at 7:30? School starts at 8:00! You used to run in late!” I could hear her whining.
“Your mom would not forgive me, if I brought you up recklessly! She was a angel…A saint…” The man with her smiled.
“Daaaaad….Get a life! Momma would want me to be myself!” She turned.
“Yamada-kun! Daddy! He’s the guy who saved me!!!!!!” She squealed running towards me.
“H..Hi…” I replied.
“Thank you so much for helping my miserable daughter. I know she is a pain!” He smiled at me.
“Hey daddy, watch it! I am cooking tonight!” Reina replied.
I was shocked on seeing Narumi-san. He was simple, not like the usual lawyers.
“Dad, shoo! Go home! Yamada-kun can walk with me to school! Now shoo! And no! you cannot flirt with my homeroom teacher!” She pushed him.
“I never flirted with her!” he smiled and walked away.
“Get a life Dad! Teachers and Lawyers don’t go together!” Reina yelled
“Yeah yeah!”
“So how are you?” She turned to me.
“Huh? I am fine I guess….” I felt flustered.
“Really? Did you fall or something?” She asked.
“Huh…yeah I guess…why?”
“Your shoulder’s swelling….”
I quickly glanced. I never noticed it. I guess you can say I am immune to pain in a way.
She suddenly pulled my hand. The next thing I knew I was in the nurse’s room. The nurse kinda knew what was going on in my house.
“There, that should take care of it. Be careful Yamada-kun.” She sighed.
I nodded and left. I saw Reina was waiting for me.
“Is it bad?” She looked at me with concern.
“No, just some rest and I will be fine.” I smiled.
“Oh….Can I show you something? You won’t believe this paradise exists in school!” Reina pulled me again.
She was different from everyone. She was so honest and open. I was shocked by what I saw. We were in a plot that was locked off near the cafeteria. It was so breath taking.
“It was a dump before, but now it’s so pretty. When I fight with papa, spend time here.” She touched a rose and smiled.
“Why did you show me?” I asked.
“Let’s just say, I would like to be friends with you.” She smiled at me.
“Ummmm….”
“Oh, if it’s Yuto, you are worried about, we are friends already! Yu-Chan’s my childhood friend!”
I smiled, when Yuto entered the place.
“Speak of the devil. Yu-chan! I met him!” Reina waved.
“Rei-Chan! Hope you did not annoy him!” Yuto laughed and patted my shoulder.
I winced. I think Reina noticed. Cause she yelled at Yuto.
~At Lunch~
I sat for lunch with Yuto and Reina in the rooftop. Today was a good day indeed. Reina….was a nice girl I must say, even though she was weird. I was kinda shocked how casual she was about her
“You often complain about your dad….What about your mother?” I asked.
“Mama? I don’t have one.” She replied casually.
“Sorry…I did not know.”
“It’s okay! No biggie. She died of blood cancer when I was 8.” She replied normally.
“Your dad did not remarry?”
“My dad did not know about me at first!”
“Ehh?”
“When mama was dying, there was a custody battle over me. Then Papa received her will claiming he had a daughter. That very day he took me away. She got pregnant when they were in university and she did not want him to know, but when she realized she was dying, she told papa. Papa took care of mama for those two years she was alive when me moved with him. Papa maybe a good lawyer and a social idiot but he is a nice guy.” Reina replied.
“You love you father a lot ne….”
“But their arguments are so hilarious. I have fun watching them argue!” Yuto laughed.
I smiled…It felt great…To have a family…
~After school~
I got home as usual. Aunt and Uncle glared at me as usual. I walked upstairs in fear. My uncle suddenly pulled me and threw me out of the door.
“You spend the night outside!” He yelled.
“Uncle, please…its cold…Please….” I pleaded but he threw me out.
He pulled me by the collar and threw me out. I was on the street in tears.
“Yamada-kun?”
I turned around to see Reina…looking at me with tears in her eyes.
“Reina-san…”
