Gah, gah, gah.

I am a big fan of the lj-cut tag. I love using it, and I especially love it when other people use it. Why?

1. Big long posts. Which I want to read, don't get me wrong, but which are sometimes intimidating whilst scrolling down the flist in a hurry. I cut mine, and I figure y'all appreciate that. :) Fic or personal stuff or files to be shared or whatever -- beyond a couple of paragraphs, it makes sense to put it behind a cut, IMO. I can live without the cut in this case, but oddly, cutting it is more likely to get me to read the post... don't know if other folks are like that, but anyway.

2. Spoilers. Should be self-explanatory.

3. Pictures. Again, I like seeing folks' photos and picspam and manips and what-have-you. I just would rather see a cut tag saying that's what's behind, so that I know to expect a long download or something not worksafe or (hi, Tim) SOMETHING THAT SCARES THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF ME.

At the moment, you see, I am unable to look at my flist (please, if you are easily freaked, don't go looking, either), because there is an image on there that is going to give me nightmares. I don't like to watch horror movies (though I have, to my everlasting regret). There are eps of TV series that I can't watch, for that matter (good example is the BtVS ep "Hush"). Am I a wuss? Undoubtedly. But the main reason I don't like being scared (especially in a sudden way) is because a fear-based adrenaline rush is very likely going to wind up triggering a panic attack (or series of them). I've had enough of that shit for a lifetime, thanks.

And related to the above, holy mother of g-d, I SO do not want to see the next Batman film. *shudder* Not a horror movie, doesn't matter, I can't deal with seeing that face.

lj, omgwtfbbq, gah!
